I’ll say it for the tenth time, if network TV wants to have some sort of relevance again, they would do whatever it takes to bring back this show with Sam either running for, or already in office as President, and have the rest of the cast appearing occasionally. It would be a ratings smash. Hell, I’d even watch TV again if it came back!

The problem is if they did that, the people would then demand political leaders who were actually competent. The media seems to thrive on incompetent leaders because those are the only leaders getting any recognition.

Many indigenous tribes to north America (idk about the south) refer to themselves as Indian. It is how their mother and grandmother said it. White Americans got embarrassed about it and started using other terms, it didn't come from them. Individual experiences and experiences of particular tribes will varry but that's my understanding.

I love all things about the West Wing, but the way the show handled this smacked of rank tokenism. It’s a huge issue, but was the B or C storyline in the Thanksgiving episode, with no reference or follow up in any other episode, as if to redeem the show. Was it written in as an afterthought?

Agreed, The west evicted Palestinians who have lived there for 2000 years and expect the Palestinians to except the injustices that they have to take. I don't care what Jews say about their previous claims. The Romans smashed the Jews in 3 separate wars when they rebelled and the last one Emperor Trajan evicted them from Judea to finally end their uprising. The Palestinians have lived there as long as the Jews have in the past. Remember the Egyptians were the ones that resettled the Jews to that area after the migration of the Sea People invasions in the Bronze Age. Whether you want to side with the Jews or the Palestinians. The Palestinians do have rights to Palestine and you can't simply evict them from their lands and ignore their right to live there.

Great Show... but this plot line was one of the dumbest of the series. At the end of the day history teaches us that Land ONLY belongs to the person that can hold it. The Indians didn't have the land stolen from them... it was conquered. Why? Because the Indians were 1000 years behind the Europeans in technology.

Also, disease certainly played a role in defeating the Native tribes... but that was through the natural spread of illness and a lack of natural immunities. Your small pox blanket claim is an overblown myth. There is only ONE example of blankets being confirmed as used and that was in 1763 at the Battle of Fort Pitt. Despite what Native Americans want to claim now, for political purposes... they are still governed by the same rules that have governed ALL of humanity throughout time; If you want to hold the land, don't lose the war.

Their culture is being wiped out. As noted, in two generations, this entire ethnic group of Native Americans will be wiped out. Generations of people who were entitled to healthcare, education and sovereignty were cheated out of the agreements made between them and the country for which many of their men fought to liberate. Grandfather to father, father to son, these people have been bullied out of their homes, languages and freedoms. How, on God’s green earth, does that not hurt living children of this ethnic group?

It is insane to believe that people cannot feel at least an apology is warranted when something happened to their ancestors. Believing that others cannot have their or their ancestor's grievances heard is actual entitlement. And yes, people are responsible for their ancestors when they are transgressed and responsible for when their ancestors cause a sin. That is called "family honor", which few people have no problem dismissing to remove themselves from responsibility because they are cowards. Those who dismiss sins committed upon others, whether theirs or by their family, are practicing entitlement.
