Part of his mystique is that his ring psychology is different than what is expected from pro wrestlers. He's quiet and focused and no frills but his moves are executed beautifully. I wonder if he had not been Tazz's son if this in ring persona would have passed through creative. Regardless, it works for him brilliantly. If the keep the slow burn on this kid, he's going to be something special. He's already over big time.

If you ever seen the movie Warrior with Tom Hardy his character is exactly like Hook. Walks into the ring beats up opponents then just leaves. Oh also Tom Hardy wears the gray hoodie just like Hook.

Sooner or later, it’s gonna be Hook against QT, but I can tell Hook’s gonna end up on the TNT title picture down the road. Hook vs Guevara would be an interesting match.

He is starting to tone it down like he was when he started doing commentary when everyone thought he could be really good at this. He just needs to chill a little bit and he really does know how to get wrestlers over, but when he shouts sometimes like a KZread video going into a commercial is when he can get jarring which for some reason he had been doing with the exception of maybe the last couple episodes.

Been waiting for this type of "no talk just kick ass and leave" kinda wrestler my entire life... Finally 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The best thing about the support for Hook is that it started out ironic, with everyone talking him up like he was the toughest SOB in AEW without him ever even having a match. Then when his debut finally came against Fuego Del Sol you could literally _hear_ the cheers go from ironic to genuine over the course of the match as people realised "Shit, this kid is actually _really, really good!"_

I became a fan because of his sensible fighting.

Hook is basically Path of Rage Taz from Day One. All we need now is Bill Alfonso and his stupid whistle. 🤣 (That last part was a joke....no we don't.)

Hook reminds me so much of old-school grapplers from the 80's. Can't wait for him to further establish himself as a star and start challenging for belts down the road

Bruh, Hook has been on a slow burn and he's just getting better. All the moves are slick, they look impactful, no unnecessary gloating or playing to the crowd. He just does his job and leaves, yet they love him. I miss these kind of characters.

I hope he never changes. I remember Taz would do that one senton move he always missed just to give an opponent a chance to come back. Like why psychologically should that even happen, he should be like a Zack Saber Jr just demolishing his opponents on the ground.

With the really weak title pictures at moment (Page, Jurassic Express and SG) and increasing exposure of comedy and goofy characters like Orange Cassidy, Hook is by far the best thing in AEW that gives me hope that serious wrestling is still alive and kicking.

I love how besides Taz being proud of hook obviously and showing it Jericho also puts him over so enthusiastically

A Jazz Musician shows his mastery with the notes he doesn't play, and a wrestler shows his mastery with the moves he doesn't use. Hook is still small enough to be a high flyer, but he never leaves his feet and relies exclusively on his amazing grounded offense, which these days is incredibly refreshing. He's basically got that feel of an old school no nonsense technician like Bret Hart or Dean Malinko. I really loved how in this match both of these guys were able to show their amateur style skills as part of the match. Honestly, I thought this match was gonna be Hook's first real challenge.
