‘There's No Beach Left In Naples’: Naples Hit By Major Storm Surge As Hurricane Ian Bears Down
MSNBC’s Ali Velshi joins Andrea Mitchell from Naples, Florida to report on the catastrophic storm surge the city is experiencing. “There's debris all over the place. It's entirely flooded,” says Velshi. “There’s no beach left in Naples.” He warns the city is "not even close to the worst of it yet."

There's a widely watched clip here in Ireland on Irish media outlets of morons in Florida swimming in the water beside a pier, of waves smashing in all around them. Just needs one wave to pick any of them up and smash their head on the pier, or the posts, and they're gone. And what of the risk they'd put rescue people at, trying to save them? I'm in Naples Florida right now I live about 40 minutes away from where this is being filmed. I'm shocked the storm surge is this bad, usually we don't get that bad of storm surge (at least as far as I know). Edit: Before any more people say anything about climate change, just know that I'm not a climate change denier. Also before anyone else starts berating me for "not listening" and "not being ready", I'm surprised simply because storm surge numbers (as far as I recall) are usually not very accurate for our area and so I'm surprised at the accuracy of the stats this year. I was listening to the news and i prepared for the storm and I'm doing fine. In fact the forecasts showed that it wasn't gonna hit Naples as bad as it is now, it wasn't until Monday that they realized the path had changed.

Seriously!
A lot of people talk about Puerto Rico about my country a lot and sometimes people don't understand that nowadays nature is not forgiven anyone no matter if you live in United States or not so I hope and I pray for people to understand others because now they see first hand what we have to go through in Puerto Rico

Florida had serious hurricanes long before this. These are just cruel people who don't want to help others. Bet they will be quick to demand federal government money for themselves, though.

You are still AMERICANS regardless that we had a president NOT smart enough to know that when Trump was throwing paper towels when you needed real help.
The guy at the site of the STORM broadcasting did a NICE JOB. Even the Cameraman is not left out . They both shows us in details and things aregoing over there. He is a Good Broadcaster and the Camera knew what's he s doing also
The funny thing is he's enjoying it but at the same time saying how devasted it is .
I'm confused. Where's the black sharpie line that includes Alabama?
Stay safe And for those who didn't leave praying for you
This is so scary I'm in Lakeland and I'm feeling the strong winds and it's not even here yet
I love how they told those who stayed behind to “fill out online forms so we can help you once it’s possible to even help you” like ANYONE who stayed behind actually has power?! Let alone WiFi?!?
I hope people got out safely.

You are going to need more than 'prayers'. What is it with you Americans always asking for prayers as if your fictional god is going to help you? This is nature at work. Accept reality.
I love the way Ali describes everything. He is so interesting. Be safe, Ali!
Prayers for all impacted in this Hurricaine
My god if this thing takes DeSantis back to Cuba... I'm going to light a candle in church.

Typical Democrat racist remark. You haven’t been this mad since the Republicans freed the slaves
Heartbreaking!!
My thoughts and prayers are with all Floridians who will be impacted by this enormous hurricane. Hope everyone is in safer ground and with adequate survival items (i.e. MREs, Generators, Fuel etc) on hand.
Stay safe people.
Omg he's going to get trapped there 😯. No job is worth that danger.
I feel grief already and I am thousands of miles away. The moon pulls in the tide and the wind in our atmosphere whips it up. Who is telling the truth about what we have done?

Why would you leave your car so close to the shore during a Cat 4 hurricane?

Ali Velshi is one brave journalist! Here in the midst of a hurricane and recently in the Ukraine. Praise to him! By the way, is this anywhere near Mar a Lardo or where DeSantis lives? Of course, these two cowards wouldn't help anyone else but just see to their own safety.
