    1) According to Terminator lore, Skynet created a batch of identical CSM-101 (Arnold) Terminators. 2) When the Terminator pulls the shotgun out of the box of roses it's a reference to the band Guns N' Roses who did a song for the soundtrack.

The chase sequence with the tow truck takes place in the Los Angeles river. You may be confused by the complete and total absence of water, but that is what it is called. It is basically a drainage system so that when the torrential rains come in the spring, all of the water leaves the city and doesn't flood it. The rest of the year people treat it like the city dump (landfill).

Yeah, the LA River system is used for flood control from rain runoff coming from the mountains. Most of the time it's empty or low intentionally since Southern California is dry, but when it rains hard, the runoff has to go somewhere so it gets diverted to the LA River to wash into the ocean.

In the trailers it was made obviously clear that Arnold was the good guy this time, so we didn't have the whole worry about Arnold finding John first. Sucked! Glad that even if Lucy guessed it, it was still kind of a surprise. And funny that she was so busy speculating about what was going on that she missed when the Terminator explained why he was helping. 😀

Arnold did many of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motorcycle. At one point he was injured, and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover. 5. Arnold is not left-handed, but the way he works that shotgun is impressive 6. The twin guards at the psych ward also played in "Good Morning Vietnam". 7. The Terminator and the sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day (one of the best sequels in cinematic history, and even better than the original, in my opinion) certainly hold up very well in this day and age. In fact, they are even more relevant nowadays with the emergence and rapid development of artificial intelligence; Sky Net and the dawn of malicious machines are right around the corner!

Great reaction to possibly the best sci-fi sequel ever! Some notes... The man taking pictures while looked stunned in the mall is the same character (and actor) who was the police officer that Arnold took the police car from in his pursuit of Kyle and Sarah in the first movie. That's why he looks stunned: he knows who this guy is and he knows the damage and killing he was responsible for the last time he saw him. He's also the source of the current day photos the officers show Sarah in Pescadero. It's not mentioned or referred to in any editions, but it is an Easter Egg that a friend of mine showed me. Robert Patrick trained so hard for this role as the T-1000. Training to fire a gun without the reflexive blink. Learning to run full speed only breathing through his nose, and he was fast enough a sprinter that he actually caught the dirt bike in the mall parking garage. He was so amazingly intimidating in this movie, as much as or even more so than Arnold, and that's saying something! When the orderly licks Sarah in the hospital, that was apparently one of the so-called catatonia tests done by unethical or sadistic orderlies according to an old friend of mine who had worked in a few psych hospitals, mainly in California, back in the late 70s and early 80s. It wasn't unusual for patients to try to get an advantage by pretending to be catatonic, hoping that the staff would think that they were out of it and not pay much attention so they could try to escape, create havoc, or whatever. Licking someone's face was a mild way of testing, according to my friend. The more standard way of testing among the more brutal orderlies was what was called a cup check, basically hitting the person in the crotch as hard as they could with a broomstick or something like that (the tonfa, shown in the movie, or a billyclub, wasn't standard when he was working in the field, so the evil jerks had to use other items like broomsticks, fists, or knees). If they didn't react then they were catatonic. And, sometimes, the catatonic patients needed to be taken to the hospital due to the damage inflicted by whatever the orderly did causing ruptures or internal damage. Apparently one patient lost his testicles as it was several days before it was realized how badly he had been hurt. And, of course, no one ever knew how it happened. “He musta fallen, or done it to himself to try to get out of here.” My friend never missed that job. He told me that some people did things worse than that, but those stories don't need repeating. There are two sets of twins in this movie. One set are the brothers who played the security guard at Pescadero and the T-1000 imitating him. The other set are Linda Hamilton and her twin sister Lesley who played the other Sarah in the sequences like the nightmare where there are two of her are in the same scene. Lesley, a nurse in real life, passed away several years ago. The T-101 learning to smile was cut from the theater edition, along with the 'brain surgery' preceding it, cos it doesn't add anything of value to the story, but it does lead to a point that amused me once I saw it. After the failure copying the young man's smile unsuccessfully, the Terminator begins copying John's mannerisms and his one sided half smirk smile. This is best seen in the exchange after he hefts the minigun in Sarah's arms bunker. More notes in part two. 😛

As leads up to this movie being released, there were commericials showing an assembly linemaking Terminators and at the end of the line they all got Arnold's Face (T-800 Series, Model 101)...... Sadly, a few of the commericals let the cat out of the bag that Arnold was the Good Guy this time, before it opened in Theaters.......... When it is came out and it was realized that the "Bad" Terminator was discuised as a cop... there was a lot of flack created cause the video game meant the player was "Killing Cops"....... Arnold carrying his shotgun in a box of roses was a nod to the band "Guns and Roses" who had multiple songs on the soundtrack..... The scene where the T-1000 runs after John on the Dirt Bike leaving the Arcade had to be reshot, cause Robert Patrick sprinted so fast he caught the bike on the first couple tries..... He also trained himself to not blink when he shoots..... The "Twirl-Cocking" of the shot gun needed a special prop..... RUMOR has it that one day Arnold picked up the wrong shotgun to practice the cocking maneuver and broke a couple fingers..... There are 2 sets of TWINS in this movie.... The Deputy at the Mental Hospital, and scenes where you see Sara twice in the the same frame (Playground, Taking chip out of Terminators head, Final Battle) is Linda's Twin Sister, Leslie.......

She actually guessed at the beginning what happened across ALL OF THE SEQUELS of the franchise, parts that happen at each one of them, was not that right about this one (except for the turn at the side Arnold switched to), but she was for all of the franchise! 😅 And no, most of those that saw Terminator 2 ALREADY HAD SEEN the first one, since there were 7 years between the first one and the sequel, of course it already became a huge thing (that’s the reason for the sequels), so even if people wouldn’t see it at the theaters back in 1984, people would’ve seen it at home, buying the beta or VHS, of course it would already been programed at TV channels, so no, you’re the one that is an exception that would’ve seen this one at theaters but not seen the first one. 🤔

Actually it wasn't, though I see some partial resemblance. Cameron has never made a physical cameo in any of his films. Only voice cameos in T1 and T2 and others. I once thought he had made a personal cameo in T1 as the bearded man standing next to the broken phone in the bar where Sarah checks the phone book for her name. But the man was simply an Extra. There's nothing in IMDB or elsewhere that suggests that Cameron physically appeared in the Bar or in T2. Only his voice appeared (in the T-1000 screaming death scene).

Sometimes I got slightly bothered by some of your criticism over great classics but that's on MY end. After an hour I am very grateful that you are honest. So many people in this platform just say that everything is amazing. What most of us end up learning to do, is to look for the things that are good and talk about them first, then saying why it didn't make a great impact on us. I think you try to do this some times but since you are not natives, it's hard. It requires subtle language. I have the same problem.

God, I couldn't agree more! Its more difficult to get out point across in a different language 😅 I love the way you put it in terms of not showcasing the negatives let's say. She reeeally liked this movie, but you will see in the afterthoughts of the second part that she makes the mistake of starting off with a negative (running time) so I'm pretty sure she Will be crucified!! 🤦🏻‍♂️ I could hid those things in the editing, but I dont think it makes sense, the channel exists to show the opinion and point of view of someone who isn't a big sci-fi or fantasy fan. Her liking or disliking something needs to be organic. Thanks a lot for the feedback btw ☺️ hope you'll enjoy the second part!

Have to disagree with you there (not on the exemples you gave of course, those ARE horror films), while you could argue that Terminator is an action movie, a sci-fi movie or even a thriller, I do think it also has the structure of a horror movie and a lot of genuinely scary scenes.
