This is a great song. I don't understand how people hate it. I get that you old fans aren't into change and stuff, but I have a feeling that Ncuti will be like David Tennant where David was being hated on the first time he began as the Doctor, but when 10's regeneration came, fans were sobbing and they did not want 10 to go. Ncuti is going to be fantastic.

He may well be fantastic. I just hope the writing and ideas improve. To be fair not sure your correct about DT. Also the end scene of the doctor dances was much better and shorter.

Oh, definitely. This is the same showrunner who used Arc Words in the earlier seasons (Bad Wolf, Mr. Saxon, the changes to Earth's ecosystem). What would be amazing would be if this song somehow gave away how the season ends.

It's got a Red Shoes vibe - I can imagine it getting faster and faster with people under its spell, unable to stop dancing, enjoying it at first and then realising they are trapped and exhausted. Like in Hocus Pocus I put a Spell on You!

This song’s even funnier after the big reveal at the end of The Legend of Ruby Sunday… . . . . . . . . Just picture Sutekh in his original Egyptian Darth Vader-looking form from 1975 dancing to this song in Abbey Road.

So we’ve had games and music- so what if there’s an entity called the producer/director that at play which uses the power of movie making - wouod explain the 4th wall breaks, rain coming out of nowhere in the music video and the doctor and Ruby cutting to different places instantly during the song

In one of the trailers you could see loads of cameras and stuff from Episode 7 and there's a theory going around that they're almost inside of a TV show somehow. It would explain the 4th wall stuff, the 6 month time skip, the random musical number at the end of The Devil's Chord etc. What if the snowflakes from Christmas is like reality bleeding into the TV show?

That’s a good theory! I was thinking about the deities from the Seventh Doctor’s era, like the Gods of Ragnarok. They were obsessed with entertainment, and one could only beat them by putting on a good show. I wonder if they’re part of this pantheon? The same goes for Fenric - he could be some sort of manifestation of fear or a loss of faith, but equally the Doctor beat him by playing chess. Maybe Fenric is related to the Toymaker as well?

unfortunately, if you check a video about making this episode on doctor who channel, you find that rain was a last minute addition, cause of the rain on abbey road during the filming( so it is not related to season's story arc at all

I love it when we get songs with lyrics in doctor who. This one was just alright but so much better than the goblin song. I hope we can get a song on par with song for ten and love dont roam. Murray Gold's instrumentals are always fantastic on the other hand!

At the very least, it’s a very similar sound effect. I’m hoping it’s an intentional motif alluding to some underlying secret/theme, because otherwise it’s just an extremely awful and out of place musical choice haha.

I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes from the new series Doctor Who. I really love this song from Devil's Cord. Seeing Shirley Ballas and Johannes Radebe from Strictly come Dancing was the best bit from the song.

I didn’t mind it in the Goblin Song (just assumed it was a kind of goblin horn), but I agree it jarred a little here.

The lyrics sound like they were written by AI. Can they not afford a song writer? So far Gatwa has had 3 episodes and 2 had really poorly written songs. Without this song the episode would have been one of the best in years

I don't know what you've been watching. But I can't remember a single time the show has ever been edgy. Stuff like Torchwood was edgy, but doctor who? The show has been more frequently pantomime in the past than it has to anything resembling edginess.
