I never quite got this - All powerful, omnipotent deity is pooped after all that creating... That is not how that works. That is not how any of that works.

The real point is that the God of this creation story did rest after finishing all his work on the seventh day after he had created mankind in chapter one and story picks up again in chapter 2 thus explaining how God was finished with all that he had done and because this was the seventh day and that it was ended and that it just has to be another day , the eight day it is just that the writer forgot to mention that the evening and the morning were the seventh day and probable because since God had rested that nothing was done on that day, but we can assume that the day after the seventh day would be the eight day, and also assume that as explained in the story that while God was observing something about his creation on the eight day that something was missing, ( Gen. 2:5 there was not a man to till the ground .) we can assume that God had to create a second man after the first man of his creation from Chapter 1 , since there was not a man to till the ground. , the man that had been made in the image of God man from chapter 1 the man that was made on the sixth day, the second man that was the man that was created after God had rested from all his work, and he was made after God had rested on the seventh day. This man that was made from the ground or the dust of the ground and nothing mention about being made in the image of God probably made a copy of the first man or a duplicate the same thing. but this second man was given a name and was designed with a specific purpose to till the ground, whereas the other created man, the first created man was given rulership authority as the purpose of them being created. The take away from the first creation story in the seven days is that God must have been in a rush and that after he was finished it had been realized that something else was needed so there had to be another day after the seventh day and that is how it is , that on the eight day that God created another man for the purpose of tilling the ground. If anyone disagrees with this then show me how I am incorrect . Somewhere there is a human species that have not had anything to do with eating a forbidden fruit and not getting kicked out of a garden of Eden and just living forever and never dying and ruling and reigning having dominion over the earth and just being eternal like God is , made in the image and likeness of God.
