I value her so much except one phrase she uses " Nigeria will be better in my liftetime" Nigeria will never ever ever get better as long as it continues to exist, Nigeria has no foundation upon which any thing better can be built upon, foundation is One ideology which is who is and what does it means to be a Nigerian, one Worldview upon which a group of people of different tribes and ethnicities become a nation and thats when the people can become active citizens and patriots, the patriots become leaders who serve and die for the nation for the betterment of the now and future generation. This whole thing is linked from laying the foundation to developing one world view to become a nation, and then the nation births active citizens and patriots who then give the peopls a better life, a country is not developed by just having once in a lifetime someone like obi, its a process which carries on everybody along in that direction of development. And Its already too late and difficult to start building a foundation for nigeria without first collapsing the house and starting afresh which the northern and southern political elites would never allow because the current chaos has benefited them and in an organised society with citizens they will be like any other person because Law will rule, so they cannot even allow obi an igbo to collapse this rotten country peacefully and then lay the foundation through developing a real constitution and jailing and exiling those who have destroyed the country to make sure they don't again contaminate the new foundation or destroy it, to serve as deterrence to new politicians to never steal or destroy the people after a new foundation is laid.

I hear what you're attempting to convey but it's unfair to the many Nigerians, raised here and are exactly like this. It is called being raised right by one's household and accepting the household's tutelage. Yes a huge part of the society is rotten, but there are also a lot of principled, ethical, good people with strength of character. Nothing to do with western civilisation, that's an insult actually.

In fact, my roommate in medical school back then in Nigeria is one of the most upright people I have met or read about in my life.
