Such an absolute pleasure to find another Ashley/PostmodernJukebox song. Perfect mix, and her voice is unbelievable
I love the way you take these poor unsuspecting songs, hypnotize them, and give them a whole new personality.

I call them the Alchemists. Their ability to turn silver, diamonds, silk, lead and even solid s**t into gold is exemplary.
Her voice is memorizing, growing up on the Smiths and hearing this now is just great.

Ms. Campbell is a treasure. She (and the rest of the Jukebox) really nailed this. I've been a HUGE Smiths fan since the late 1980s, and it's very rare to hear a cover than can be both true to the original and make something new of the material.

Ditto for Cambridge on the 13th - but really, don't pick one performer from the others, this ain't Eurovision! All four singers brought passion and quality to the show and the band were as crisp as ever - and we've seen them four times now. Every singer brings their own personality and style to make the PMJ tour so enjoyable and entertaining. Hat's off to all, as usual.
This is barely a cover, feels like a whole new song on its own. And stands beautifully. 🤯
Every note in that arrangement is perfect. The sparse piano and muted electric bring back the Nashville sound from the days of Chet. Ashley’s solo eloquently displays her instrumental skills in her own style. Her vocals laid back into the ensemble groove are sublime. Very effective. Excellent engineering, balanced and clean. Y’all are very good at your craft. Muy burno!

Exactly!!!
For a country cover, this is surprisingly jazzy and swinging. A cool reinterpretation of a classic.
I love her phrasing on this old Smiths tune. Cheers.
Scene: 2044 assisted living care TV room, aging smart TV monitor stuck on PMJ YT loop, camera zooms into little shriveled me in a wheelchair parked and forgotten in a corner, this song comes on, the corners of my eyes tighten and my eyes pool with emotion as I recall...I recall it all.
I miss country songs using the old locomotive drum pattern. It's such a small touch that gives a song character, just like here, and enhances story telling like an old Johnny Cash song. Good job on this, PMJ, you nailed it.
Thank you very much for this wonderful concert tonight in Karlsruhe!
Brilliant arrangement! Kudos to Ashley and crew for a beautiful performance.
I am always amazed at the way you transform songs. I never tire of hearing PMJ.
This song and video saved my heart tonight on the edge of a cliff. This is one of those youtube channels that encourages, heals and most of all entertains me. Plus, the costumes and atmosphere are great and always inspire me. Thank you!
Absolutely love how you've totally transformed this song!!! The entire performance from all of you is faultless. I've listened so many times and never tire from hearing it. Ashley's voice is enchanting. She totally makes this song her own, her talents know no bounds. Phenomenal singer and musician.

Fun fact: She’s Glen Campbell’s daughter.
The Smiths are my favorite band of all time. This song is mine and my husband’s song. Your version is beyond phenomenal. It is beautiful and made me cry. Wow. 🖤
Was listening in another tab, and the lyrics were so familiar but the song so different. Amazing work PMJ and Ms. Campbell! Breathing new life into modern classics.
Great rendition of a great classic!
I love the subtle reference on her hair to the flowers that Morrisey distribute to the crowd
I'm completely in love with this cover!!❤ the piano in the background brings such an especial touch...
Wow I love this
Your performance in Essen last night was absolutely brilliant!
Nothing but expertise and subtlety by every member of the band
Saw them in Paris yesterday (Olympia)… One of the best concert i've ever seen. Ashley, you're a queen 😊 !
The original Smith's IS THE Masterpiece, in my opinion.. This cover, altered There is a Light beyond recognition.
Loving the bass, up front and (almost) center. With a hint of Highwaymen shining through. Imagine this driving on, the Engine that never goes out...
Smiths songs never have titles that match the song -> but this is my favorite Smiths and now even better!

Yes, they do. This song is one that matches the lyrics. Here's some more, as examples: - Every single song from the first album - 5 songs from Meat Is Murder - Every song on The Queen Is Dead - 9 songs from Strangeways, Here We Come - A load of singles and b-sides (e.g. Panic, Ask, These Things Take Time)
Outlaw country was a 70's thing....
Phenomenal arrangement and a fantastic new take on a 1980s classic.

Yes!!! This is the upload I have been waiting for! After hearing Ashley sing this at the Glasshouse on April 28th, I was absolutely captivated. What a lovely voice she has and what a brilliant cover of the song!
Seen in Liverpool and was performed at the show, all performers were really good.
Keep surprising the world Ashley, with your amazing talent.❤ Still inspired with meeting you and autographing my banjo at Eagle Music fest in Huddresfield. Kind regards Tim
Really digging this tweak on this song. Very well done!

Essa música já é de rasgar o peito na versal original, agora com essa voz doce é maravilhosaaa

As great as this is , you REALLY MUST! Go and see this performed live , oh boy just magnificent !
Very very well done 👏
I love PMJ. you peeps get every genre right...and make amazing music. I tell, pretty much, anyone i know to listen and i will this one too...but, this is not outlaw 60s country. the song was absolutely beautiful, and i enjoyed it very, very much, yet, it wasn't any type of outlaw country. Thank you for all the joy!!!
Good lord, this is incredible.
I have waited a loooong time for you guys to take on a Smiths song. Lemme tell you, it was worth it, Allready listened to it on Spotify like 5 times since this morning, beautiful rendition
I loved how it sounded, does anyone knows more songs that sounds like this one?
Brilliant!
Interesting version with a nice voice and music.
Incredible
This is wonderful!! Best of all is that I was expecting it to sound totally unlike the original, but it simply doesn't. Just sounds like a cleaner, better produced version.
Wow😮😮😮 fantastic…
This is heavenly beautiful. I just can't stop listening to this song!!!
It is quite a musical, epic journey; a voice like a river telling us how wonderful it is to live the moment; each instrument brings peace on that road called: Life
The Light That Never Goes Out Take Me Out 🎊💊🍄🤯🎶😎🔊🔊😜🙃🎛️💙

I saw the title and was worried being a huge smiths fan but how dare my weak mind doubt postmodern jukebox this is amazing.
Really good arrangement!
i love how you've transformed this while keeping the Smithsyness of it intact
this bassline brings me immense nostalgia but I can't find the song... Anyway, brilliant and beautiful song!
Thank you so much. Now I have a way to listen to the songs of my youth without feeding the ghouls. Awesome cover.

Holy shit! This is incredible! I discovered your channel last month and i'm hooked agh! ❤
I love listening to Ashley, she has such a beautiful voice.
love love LOVE this 😍 Such an interesting arrangement transformation from the original.
It's been a while since I liked one of your last productions. This one came together wonderfully. The melody, the voice, the instrumentation with the olden twist but also with modern touches. Since could run on todays radion, I I think you are on to something. The confident and gracious singing of Ashley is a blessing on the senses.
I don't think the lyrics quite work with the music at that tempo, but her voice is astonishing
love it. I didn't think you could do a Smith's song better.
I love how you make these songs so much fun!
Saw Ashley perform this in Guildford last week - mesmerising.
Amazing reimagining of this classic
“I love The Smiths!”
Every time I read "There´s a ligth" Ihear a chorus singing "over at the frankenstein place".
More 80s!!
This could cheer even Morrisey up...
Great performance, love this version. Thanks for sharing.
I love it! please do "Rayuan perempuan gila" by Nadin Amizah!
