Every psychotherapist wants an interventions cheat sheet for their case notes! This makes your notes much easier to write and also helps with writing faster notes.

    It gets better with practice, sort of like emotional granularity in clients, therapeutic notes become second hand overtime.

Can you make a video on some universal sentences that can be used for any session with any client independently of the trauma or subject the client brings to the therapy. I need to pass my practical exam getting good marks on speaking freely without asking direct questions and yet help the client to progress conversation. 🙏

    I have always felt challenged with writing case notes, as it was not something taught in grad school. I am wondering what section of the case note would we include the interventions if writing a SOAP note or DAP note? Thanks so much for making this helpful material available. :-)

    Interventions could go in Objective for SOAP, and in Data for DAP... the key is just putting them in the same section every time so you're not even thinking about it.

    notes : assessed , challenged statements/themselves/progress/r'ships/fsmily history/thoughts, demonstrated (modality) like mindfulness technique, communication strategy, explored the onset of a diagnosis/ incidents/explored feelings related to, evaluated consequences of actions/benefits, identified alternative coping strategies/triggers of specific outcomes or symptoms, label feelings/triggers/patterns in life/behaviours (w children pouplar one), normalise experience/feelings , reflected things back, processed feelings/fear they have/ emotions related to a specific person

    I used the word assessed and my supervisor told me not to put that on my notes. I’m having challenges here and there. She is very picky
