WHY AM I DONG IT THIS WAY?
A lot of channels do Patreon or KZread Memberships at a cost to the viewer which puts a lot of content behind a paywall, meaning it is pay to view, and a large amount of the subscriber base miss out on a lot of content, or the quality of the content available to non members reduces. I don’t like this approach.
My way - EVERY one will get to see ALL content. If you aren’t in a position to donate - you still get to see ALL content and your current experience of the channel will NOT change at all. If you do want to support the channel then you get to decide how I prioritise the videos.

I love this song. It helped me process some of the trauma I have experienced, I felt seen and heard. I prefer the acoustic version, Yungbluds voice shines and is more emotional in that one. I used to work in the mental health field and I appreciate that you are looking at it through the perspective of the predator for a few reasons. You didn't blame the victim, you didn't focus on what she could have done to stop it... And, because it gives the hope that if we continue conversations about "what happened to cause this person's behavior"... we can hopefully spark change to make the world a little safer for everyone. I appreciate you!

Love your first reaction. Every single song of yungbluds has a meaning like God save me but don't drown me out. One of his song's is based on what actually happend and is happening to him for real is called Hated. Hope you do more.

This song is so powerful. Because he's not being harsh. He's just saying. Dude think about it. This halps so much when you can't call it rape for what ever reason. But still feels like it. This is what it's like being roofied

Great disussion. ❤ There's so much focus on society (even in these comments) on women having to take precautions and not enough accountability for those who assault. We absolutely should aim for a society where women don't need to maintain constant vigilance. Anyone who can watch this and have more to say about the woman's choices than the man's is part of the problem. I love that Yungblud isn't afraid of skewering difficult topics. "You hear what you want but she can't even talk" hits home. Even without alcohol involved that is such a familiar trauma response.

If you enjoyed this YUNGBLUD song , I highly recommend reacting to one of his other songs "parents". It gives great insight into his view of the world.

Love that you’ve delved into yungblud. Been obsessed for 6? Yrs now. All his music is amazing but a good one to examine is “life on mars”. He really is such a genuine young man, so talented. Thanks for another great analysis. Cheers.

This song changed and saved my life. It came on randomly and I just broke down. I was hysterical, couldn’t even get words out. I was 25. I’d been in mental health hospitals because 6 months after having my son when I was 22, I started hearing that man’s voice like he was stood behind me. So I was hospitalised because i tried to take myself out of this world. I still didn’t tell anyone what happened not even the doctors etc. i then went into another mental health hospital at 23 and still never told anyone. After hearing this and having a breakdown I went into a mental health hospital and told them that when I was 17 this thing happened and that it was the first time I’d told a single person because i thought it was my fault. The nurses explained that it wasn’t and actually put a label on it and said it wasn’t a drunken mistake. You were r*ped. I’d never thought of it as that so it was weird being told that’s what happened not a drunken mistake. You’re a victim. So I eventually told my parents and my son’s father what had happened. It was the hardest thing I ever did. When I was 17 everyone at the time was so angry with me because I never turned up to my A-Level exams. Everyone thought I was just being lazy. But it had happened on a night out 2 weeks before my exams. This song is basically what happened to me but a bit worse. I was out with a friend and we met a group of lads who were funny and ended up joining them and going to different bars and clubs because they’d come up from London so we knew where to go etc. was having a good time and they were buying us drinks all night. I went back to his hotel room and my 2 friends stayed but I didn’t tell them I was going I just said I’m going to the loo and for a cigarette. I was unbelievably drunk. At his hotel door I literally fell in and smacked my head on the wall because I was so drunk. I remember saying I’m too drunk I need to go back to my friends and then get my head checked out and I apologised to him that I was leaving. Then I clearly remember him saying “no you don’t you’re fine” and him slamming the door. I was trying to open the door but I was already being kind of ushered further in. And i became very alert when he said “you’re not leaving”. I never told anyone because I thought it was my fault because I’d gone back to the hotel in the first place. After it had happened we both just went back to the bar where his friends and mine were and then I just stayed out and drank loads more until us girls went home. I didn’t say a thing. At that time I didn’t think of it as I was a victim of something. I just thought I’d made a stupid decision by going back with him.

If you're looking for suggestions to react to: Muse - Hysteria (obsessive desire) Blue Obtober - Hate me (depression/drugs etc) In the moment - Whore (self-acceptance, defiance) PALAYE ROYALE - Lonely (Very dark, "too lazy for a suicide" example of lyrics)

It's one thing to expect decency from others but relying on it is simply foolish. Putting oneself in such a vulnerable state will often lead to tragedy of one form or another. People get so offended so quickly. "I shouldn't have to worry about someone taking advantage of me when I'm intoxicated!" Sure and you shouldn't carry a weapon or a GPS when out for a long hike in the woods. You shouldn't have to lock your doors. You shouldn't have to be mindful of your password credentials online. You shouldn't have to worry about a doctor giving bad medical advice. The reality is, the best person to look out for you is YOU, not your bestie, not a bartender, not some random people at the club. You. Cry foul and unfair all you want but if you want to avoid these things then you and only you have to take responsibility for your safety. This includes minding what your eating and drinking in these environments. Never leave a drink unattended or accept one from a stranger's hand (or perhaps even an acquaintance}. If you simply must get hammered just do it at home with only trusted friends or family. Or you can just roll the dice, but it sure does suck to lose.
