I can see why people may not love it but it’s one of my most played albums of all time it came at a time in my life where I really needed it. Pushed me through so many days at my old job gave me the extra boost of happiness I desperately needed

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about scaled and icy. It really helped balance me out at a time where I was trying to "redecorate" and struggling with who I was and who I want to be. @@Soupytimeee

this is a refrence to Scaled and Icy and how much effort they put into it only for it to be a miss.

Wasn't a miss to me. Loved that they took a chance like that after Trench. Part of the reason I love TOP is that every album sound so different, but still "TOP".

The song is for his wife, but the video is for his last love, Scaled and Icy, and the amount of time and effort that ultimately missed critical success. In the shot of the finished shotgun shell, you can see a blurred out light blue dragon to the right and in the background, a clear SAI reference. As well, both Tyler and Josh worked on their respective parts of making this shell and a box to present it in, separate from each other, a clear reference to how they worked on SAI in isolation from each other during the pandemic. They gave their work to the industry, it was shot into the void without much care, and was unceremoniously declared a miss. Tyler takes that album to heart and I believe this song is simultaneously about his relationship with his wife as well as his relationship with his work and the industry he's at the mercy of. His intention of elevating the overarching Dema narrative didn't mean much in his eyes.

I wasn't a huge fan of this song when I first heard it, there's a few songs recently that they put out that I feel that way about. Not that it's a bad thing or anything. I think moods play a huge influence on liking songs, It makes me wonder how many songs I went through in life that I didn't like because I was feeling a certain way that day and didn't give a second shot to.
