Yes, I just looked at the "T" in good light. A couple weeks after her last molt there is a definate burgundy sheen to it. In a way I am glad the spider is a stirmi. I believe that means it was likely a captive raised; not wild caught individual. One article I read on stirmis said they were more aggresive than blondis. Mine is very manageable. David

How could you live with that animal in your house, has it ever escaped. I understand it's your pet but it's huge

David, most of the adult T.stirmi that are usually sold in pet stores as adults and pass them off as the real deal are usually wild caught (WC) specimens that were imported from French Guyana, not from Brazil as that's where the real blondi originates. Captive breds slings are sold from time to time but sometimes people just walk away from from because they are about the same price as a WC adult, just like the common G.rosea As I say in my vids on youtube, individuals will vary

Continued... True, Theraphosa are a large genus but the mice are very rich in calcium and they should never be offered more than once or twice a year as too much calcium that's gets stored in their exoskeleton can often to a bad molt which could prematurely kill her and this is common for this species as they are chronic molting issues from their shear size and weight. B.dubia roaches/goliath worms are THE best diet. Nice T but be careful

Its impressive u can make it feed outside of its home. Can u also make it come running when u call?? 😀 The one i once had was very clean. It always pooped in the waterbowel for a easy cleaning. U can look at my channel to see it.

some younger T's MIGHT have an already dead meal but for the most part no it has to be alive

I've never owned the real T.blondi yet myself, but I have a 9'' female stirmi and used to have an 11'' mature male that died a couple of months ago and they were all manageable. I wish to get my hands on owning a true T.blondi but they are hard to find in Canada

Nice video.. However, I am regretful to tell you that this is NOT a real T.blondi but a subadult Theraphosa stirmi (the burgundy goliath) that's always mislabeled as the real thing. Real T.blondi should have a full set of hair on the patella (knees). Since this one's has none, it's a stirmi Secondly, I own tarantulas myself...be careful with mice as they're not healthy.

I know you can feed reptiles animals that are already dead. What about spiders?
