​@@kiloismeta8933 i don't usually pay attention to Fantano but he said earlier that he thinks this album could be a real banger and that the song is really enjoyable ("this white boy played some funky music today" is a quote from his review lol) he said "every twenty one pilots album could disappear and i would probably be fine. I'd feel sad for you all, but I'd be fine. But, I must say, Trench is amazing." and he said "Welcome back to Trench" was a lil too on the nose, but he doesn't know that Trench is also the name of a location in the whole multi-album lore thing

I get that it was for lore purposes but theres definitely better ways to do that, such as trench.

it's actually underrated, cause i don't think there's a bad song in this album, but not remarkable, the outside and redecorate are great in my opinion, but the other ones are just good, not something to listen frequently though

@@X_Podiussaturday, mulberry street, redecorate, and shy away are all bops i listen to a lot. it may not be as good of a sit through experience as trench but im with you there tbh.

Scaled and Icy isn't a bad album. It just isn't like any of their other ones, and it disappointed people. It wasn't angry or depressing or angsty. It was mostly upbeat and happy. Lots of major scale usage. The songs are great. I feel like there was more instrument usage on this album than any other one so far. People are just used to tøp being darker and they weren't ready for it.

It's like Regional at Best, but with industry standard production. It's a regression, which is why a lot of people didn't like it. Trench felt like such a step forward, and then the next album it being a step back? That's pretty bad.

Yeah scaled and icy was the time where I drifted away from my top obsession. I realised that they grew into a different direction and accepted it. I still was sad because their music was such a big part of my childhood but I still had the old songs to enjoy so who cares. I'm so happy that their new songs went back into that kind of "angsty" direction though. Genuinely healed something inside of me lmao

@@MM-vs2et It's not a regression. It's just different. The songwriting is better. There is more real instrument usage. Everyone just wants everything they write to give them that high school teenager reckless feeling and this album just didn't have that. The songs are still extremely well written. The music is good. It's just not what you wanted.

After listening to all their albums again, it's less annoying that Blurryface and Vessel. And it has solid tracks like Shy Away, or the Trench leftovers No Chances and Redecorate. So yeah, their 2nd best for me lol

For once, something ACTUALLY aged well

Fantastic album imo, I feel like a lot of the initial hate was from it not being trench.

I live this album. Listen to it almost everyday.

I dont k ow why everyones hating on this album but its one of my favorite albums from 21 pilots 😢

I was insanely disappointed by it personally. Especially coming from the darker grittier sounds on trench. S&I just makes me feel like i just walked into H&M or something. It's almost like a parody of a 21 Pilots album. Im also in the minority that thinks blurryface is there best though.

@@Bouncer_RH06he’s honest about his opinion, he just has a habit of phrasing it as if it’s a universal fact and making fun of stuff that isn’t cringe-level at all, then lazily tacking on a “but that’s just my opinion” on the end as if that fixes how mean he just was the whole video toward a perfectly legitimate artistic expression that just wasn’t for him.

​@@xSmittyxCorex To be fair: if he didn't make jokes the video wouldn't be interesting or authentic. Him providing his little jokes is a way of showing how he feels about the album and just giving his input. You don't have to agree or anything but I feel like his personality is part of what makes it interesting to listen to his opinions and what he thinks. It just makes it less dry

i wouldn't say the album was awful - there were a handful of songs that i loved on it - but it's definitely very different and not rlly my taste anymore. maybe it's a me thing but i thought a lot of the songs didn't have that oomf that every other song did

So, I ask that you respond, the album was different because in the lore josh and Tyler were captured by dema smh. There is a reason for the different music, it’s in the lore, and the story.

Coming from a top fan this was their worst project. I considered every other project an 8 but I’d probably rate this new one a 3 or 4. Literally I like 4-5 songs. The rest feel bored or like I’m trying to hurt my ears listening to them. The 4-5 songs are good day, shy away, the outside, no chances and redecorate. Everything else just feels so hollow. And yes, even if that was the point, it doesn’t make good music.
