They should do a before and after of the west end! Destroyed it putting in 75. It was another Over the Rhine except 4 times the size.

When I moved to Cincinnati from Virginia Beach in 1970 the city was less complex-Fountain Square was new and less crowded, the Gibson Hotel was still extant and Pogue’s and Closson's were the pre-eminent retail emporiums-sadly, all are now gone.

I'm originally from Cincinnati Ohio but now you couldn't give me a house there it's the people who destroy the city.

Very nice production....BUT, the logo obscures so much of the pictures. Kinda ruins it.

@Enki_of_Erie No body asked about Cleveland. Besides why are you on all the cincy vids trying to prove something about Cleveland???? If they wanted to talk about Cleveland, they would have.

Then.. lovely architecture and views....Now.. huge square buildings, one of which has a steel condom on top of it...Graceless, brutal structures

Cincinnati was ruined by 50's, 60's, and 70's urban renewal.

They built a very lame baseball park on the river (sort of). For a decade there was absolutely nothing to do anywhere near the place (that has finally changed). Cincinnati has got to be one of the poorest ran cities in America for what it could be.

Agreed...Great American Ballpark could have been so so much better than it is...It's much better now than when it opened, but for the money spent, if they had spent only half of that on Riverfront Stadium/Cinergy Field they could have had so much more... I know there was a trend to get rid of all the cookie cutter ballparks, which was done everywhere, however looking back with what I know now I would have kept it at all costs.. The stadium was still pretty young and it was far more majestic looking than GABP.. The great history of the Big Red Machine arguably one of the greatest teams ever, if not the greatest, began really at the time that stadium opened.. . Destroying it somewhat destroyed some of the aura of that history, and to me now, that was a crime...Cincinnati owned the region of Indiana Ohio and Kentucky as the City to go to in the 1970s but has had terrible leadership since, and Indianapolis and Columbus have at least evened the score and probably surpassed it with Louisville Ky beginning to knock on the door.. Cincinnati really needs to get it in gear again. Its amazing to me that GABP is now nearly 2/3 as old as Riverfront was when they tore it down and the Reds haven't won anything since they've been in that building.
