Theme from Hill Street Blues (w/Intro) - Larry Carlton Quartet Live @ Blue Note Napa, CA 2-22-19

Музыка

On February 22 and 23rd, 2019 legendary guitarist and four-time Grammy award winner Larry Carlton brought an amazing quartet to Napa California and played to sold out crowds each show. This incredible lineup included Larry Carlton (guitar), Ruslin Sirota (keys), Don Aliquo (sax), Gene Coye (drums) and his son Travis Carlton (bass guitar). What a treat seeing this musicain at the top of his game at such an intimate and special club setting.

@@mxg75 Not Exactly. However it is true, Mike Post wrote "Hill Street Blues". Larry was not part of the band that created the basic track. He added his solo parts on top of the already recorded music. The bed of the track was recorded at "Smoketree Studios" in Chatsworth CA (my personal studio). I recorded/engineered Hill Street Blues". Mike asked me to take the 24 Track tapes to Larry's studio- "Studio 335". So I did. Larry and I spend an afternoon at his place. He used his Gibson 335 for the first half of the solo, and then swapped over to a Fender Strat for the middle section. It was definitely a memorable afternoon. I returned to my studio and mixed the track for Mike. Needless to say Mike loved the solo. The rest is history.
