He's such a big (which is truly an understatement) baby. I don't believe his excitement he has whenever he sees you, after any length of time that you've been absent, will wane anytime soon! The black lab I had for years, was always like that. When I had my daughter, just about everyone thought I would have to get rid of Bear because he wouldn't want to share my attention with her. It was quite the opposite, he adored her, he was protective of her, and attentive to her needs. When she was a baby, whenever she'd cry, he would go between me and her while I was getting her diaper and wipes, and getting her bottle warmed up. He'd lay at my feet whenever she was in my lap. When she was on the floor, he'd lay with her, tolerated her poking his eyes or nose, pulling on his ears, or whatever she did without any negative reactions whatsoever. Nothing compares to a loving, loyal fur baby!
