I don't think there's anything wrong with having a healthy respect for a couple or individuals, but I do think it's a little weird when people start to put others as "couple goals" or just "goals" in general... you only know what they allow you to see, and when you try living vicariously through someone else, you can miss certain opportunities in your own life...imo 🤷🏾‍♂️

When Khadeen said about Devale thinking about her day being better, I had to check myself in my marriage.

I absolutely love Devale & Khadeen ❤. They are not afraid to show the true reality of marriage. What they are doing is a game changer‼️

Lessons from this podcast: embrace change; you never know how God is going to use you, it’s His plan, not yours. Learn to pivot, if a door closes ITS FOR A REASON. Respect your partner’s vision even if it seems like it’s not ideal for you, and find a way to make it align with yours. Don’t put other couples on a pedestal, every couple has and will have their own struggles. Also submission is simply trusting someone to lead, and that trust is earned.

I'm so impressed with Devale educating with clear and historically accurate political economic facts. Cultural hype does not translate to political economic power and spiritual wholeness. We can have money and still be murdered. Cultural influence has not and does not translate to less mass incarceration, financial net worth, healthcare, and being brutalized unto death outside AND within our "communities".

This was a great interview. I love seeing happy, healthy relationship’s that can be honest and transparent!!!!

This interview showed me that there are couples out there that has relationship mindset like me. I appreciate this interview to show me there is hope for what I want and what I like in a partner, friend, husband (if it gets to that point). I don’t have to be “married” but the relationship is so genuine, loving and natural that it feels like we’re married and the world thinks we’re married. This was an EXCELLENT interview. So relatable and touched on so many points. I come from a Caribbean household just like Khadeen so I so relate to how she spoke about the dynamics of her parents marriage and how they communicated and it affected being a struggle at times with her being able to effectively communicate with Devale. I know they don’t like couple goals and honestly I don’t like saying it but Devale & Khadeen are being great great examples of what healthy black love looks like. I’m older than them yet I get a lot of gems from how they are and how they move. Can’t wait to get the book!

Cam please don't let your ability to not give a flip, disconnect you from your soul. That will create narcissistic tendencies and disconnect you from the true and living God. I absolutely love listening to Deval! Yes, he’s a comedian, but even more so, he’s full of a wealth of knowledge and truth, and he boldly speaks THE truth in any room, regardless of trends and popular emotionally charged arguments. He elevates the intellect in discussions. I love how he distinctively challenged Cam’s comment about “all love…regardless the color.” … I love and agree with Devals clarification… Black love is distinctively different, powerful, and revolutionary due to the history of oppression in our Nation.
