Bas is short for Basil, so pronounced "Baz". They are real old school gangsters but with a talent for singing and playing instruments. The Grandchildren of one of them introduced him to gangster rap and the rest is history. "Gangsters eh ? Hold my beer. . . . "

I thought it was pronounced that too, but he himself pronounces it like "Base". Heard it on a radio show they were interviewing on. They're hella fire and talented, one of my favorite finds in recent memory haha.

@@pietateip Nope, I am referencing an in depth interview with them, so I am referencing their own words not someone else's opinion. I guess you think the Northern Boys are also actors.
They know each other via music and their past connections with the underworld. It was the grandkids of one of them that listens to rap, and helps with bringing the lyrics up to date. They may be the real deal OGs, but they still need help with some of the modern lingo.

Check out Vibe Chemistry ft. Pete & Bas, and other big UK names. You can then see how they hold up in Drum and Bass song. Their versatility is what really astounds me. Drill, old-school, drum and bass, they can do it all.

That's what I thought, but I swear to you I watched an interview and they pronounced it the way I did. I'll do more research and confirm for the next one!
