Ikr! I’m pretty chill with theater. Like, I’ll try for the lead, supporting, etc, but if I see a kid even if she’s younger than me and new to theater, if she fits Liesl Von Trapp more (my dream role), than I’d be like “Break a leg girl, I’ll go for Marta if I need to”

I don't like it because it's just not the style of musical I can get into but I never understood hating a popular thing purely because it's popular. It's very easy to just let other people enjoy what they like while enjoying what you like instead of letting not liking something be your core personality.

my mom was like "you haven't been getting any lead parts lately, and i've seen the kids that play the leads. They are always the one dressing up for auditions in costume, like the girl who was summer in school of rock dressed in a uniform. maybe you should do that" and i had to explain to her all the reasons why that was wrong because i knew she was thinking about forcing me to come in costume. but i won that argument. :)

I got to see the UK version of Newsies and Brooklyn was all girls and it was very cool, especially since the girl playing Spot was shorter than Jack Catherine and Davey but had such a big personality

10:04 I was in a production of Newsies a couple years ago, and Spot and the Brooklyn newsies were all little kids and mostly girls. They were all amazing, but the kid playing Spot was spot-on!! She also was Gingy in Shrek a year later and slayed that role as well!

at the last play I was in, about five months ago, one of the actors had to do four quick changes, each being ten seconds, all right after each other, I'm so happy I wasn't her, it seemed so stressful.

I’ve done SpongeBob before! We did the jr version, so it may be different for you but it’s super fun! The costumes are all so fun and it’s so entertaining.

we did a matinee for spongebob and it was so much fun!! i was one of the sardines and we did a little meet and greet, i taught some of the kids how to make a star with their hands :,)

Hi theatre kids! I just auditioned for the fall play of Little Women...I look a lot more mature than most of my friends so I'm scared I'm gonna get Marmie or Aunt March. But I reallyyyyy really want to play one of the Little Women, preferably Jo. I think the audition went well. I'll edit this comment when the cast list comes out....in about a WEEK. UGH IM SO NERVOUS update: so the cast list took like 3 weeks to come out and bad news, i was right and I got marmee. and my BEST FRIEND IS JO. hopefully this means i get a good role in the spring show :(

Hi, I know I’m really late to this comment but I hope you had amazing time doing the show! I’m so sorry it didn’t go how you wanted. I’ve had my friend getting a role I want happen multiple times and it really does suck. But Marmee is such an amazing character! But in the musical right now I'm the only sophmore who ended up getting a part, with my friend in the ensemble. i was in a cast of matilda as lavender. everyone was so nice and funny and just so energetic and it felt like a family 😭 closing night was SO SAD and i just remember all of us screaming revolting children doing the most intense dance moves ever and we were all panting and sweating when we ran back stage it was SO FUN bcus everybody gave it their all and you could tell how much fun we had 😭😭😭

These videos are literally perfect. It shows how many people have amazing talent and the different directions drama teachers can go. And don’t be mad at what parts you get because casting is so hard. My drama teacher makes us cast 1-2 shows depending on how many classes you’re in. It’s so hard because of the amount of talent there is.
