At least for the music part I can fully agree. Until they replace any boost segment with meaningful exploration (ESPECIALLY IN AN OPEN WORLD GAME) it will never go Supersonic.

I'm new to Sonic and Frontiers OST caught so off guard too. Before playing any Sonic game, I assumed most of the vocal songs in the series were some corny saturday morning cartoon rock instead of actually good written and performed rock music or metal in Frontier's case.

At this point, it's been a more time since their last sonic song than the span of time that they actually spent making sonic songs. I get that what songs they DID make were iconic as fuck, but at this point, they've been away from sonic for longer than they've been WITH sonic.

Even non-Crush 40 songs like Reach for the Stars, Endless Possibilities, Fist Bump, Infinite Theme, Dreams of an Absolution, and His World have been able to hold their own with the fans in terms of popularity. Fist Bump even became a meme a few years ago.

Ironically, "do or die" is actually said in the song, the lyrics of the bridge are: "No more compromise; this is do or die, and now you've crossed the line, you'll wake the beast inside" x2

My only regret is that I will never be able to experience this a first time ever again. His reaction wasn't just my reaction, but every sonic fans

It's a different genre from usual Sonic, though! Normally Sonic's badass tunes are more, Live and Learn, or Endless Possibility, or stuff like that. Sudden metal scream also caught me by surprise when I played Frontiers!

Yeah but sonic music is usually so distinct, it's amazing don't get me wrong, but it's not your normal typa music. This on the other hand, takes the uniqueness of sonic songs, and the absolute mayhem or heavy metal and melds them into these masterpieces

The speed in which this man blindly adapts to the song's pacing and rhythm changes is insane. Some may think it sounds "off", but consider this is literally a BLIND COVER, and yet it takes him less than a second to adapt to all rhythm changes.

@@phil_zupra_b5880 It's basically up there as far as "best 3D Sonic" goes, but depending on who you ask that may not be an especially high bar to clear. I personally would say that it's a plenty solid game on its own merits, but it's definitely something longtime Sonic fans in particular will really enjoy.

Frontiers was my first 3D Sonic game since Adventure DX. This video accurately captures just how hype it was to enjoy a Sonic game again.

Well, to be fair, as far as I know, Jerod doesn’t own a double bass. He talked about that before, it was in one of his highlights where he talked about someone arguing with his mods over whether or not he has a double bass pedal (until jerod commented and said ‘i use a single bass pedal).

I love that we live in a world where people hear absolutely fucking banging music like this and say "this is Sonic?!" please continue down this path Sega. Sonic is finally going down the right path

I'm sure someone's already said this but...: The part Kellin is screaming in Break Through It All is "Don't look down", not "Do or die". Mix up is understandable, as both are lines elsewhere in the song, and there are plenty of other misheard lyrics to that scream in particular, but he IS very concerned about your acrophobia, since you're VERY high up as this song is playing. Also, HARD agree about Undefeatable.
