The synth pad sounds like the og dune music a bit.
The holdsworthian clean break was gorgeously executed 🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥
So hard to describe that guitar tone. I guess,....lo-fi ???? But really clear and articulate. They are using minimal gain as well. Which gives that very cool pick attack that you can only achieve with low gain eq with high output pickups. So cool guys. The writing and composition in this song is next level.

Low gain, tight percussive palm muting, scooped mids/low bass?

No I have the KSR Colossus and the mids are around 11 o'clock. It is super tight and percussive on Lead 2 channel. Also the KSR Ares does have the Lead 2 channel of the Colossus which is why it lights up Purple. I was a bigger fan of Lead 1(Blue channel mode 1) but since watching this and checking out Lead 2 mode 1 (purple) its sick as fook! Super aggressive, lots of texture, very tight in the bass response and ultra clarity in the hi mids to high end of the frequency spectrum. No harsh sizzle just pure clarity and hi gain metal awesomeness. These amps possess 2 modes per channel and also have a bright switch plus a fat switch to add more low end if so necessary. The gain is at 1 o'clock, bass at 10 o'clock, mids at 10 or 11 o'clock and treble at 2 o'clock. I don't see the fat switch engaged on either amp and they are on the same Channels from the Colossus H-100 which is Lead 2 purple mode

The synth pad chords in the background remind me of dune. The original, though. I think.
Justin deserves so much more attention as a guitarist and song writer.
I am not a fan of tech deth, but there is something about this band. I can't stop listening to this and Algorithmic Salvation. Catchy and incredibly musical. I heard the tune with the vocals and this music is so strong that I didn't miss the voice. These guys are doing something special. More please!

It’s an incredible blend between what I’ve always loved from my favourite tech death artist and my favourite jazz fusion artists. Decapitated, TZP and I can’t leave the Faceless out out the equation. TZP is like a Decapitated percussive punchy groove with a Holdsworthian approach to leads and atmosphere. The way Justin moves into his modes of how he’s choosing to play the leads shows he’s studied someone massive like Holdsworth and taken what he likes from that artist and incorporates it behind a percussive shifting rhythm. Absolutely stellar musicians and have always held a great band. Having Derek doing the vocals right now can not get any better. Brings me right back to being a teenager when Planetary Duality dropped and really helped shape what we see in the best Technical death metal bands of today.

It was the that opening riff and rhythm to "kaleidoscopic tendencies" for me. First time I heard it, it was like the riff god played from the clouds as mountains and trees burst from the earth. They apes stood upright to start head banging. Wild shit.

It's hard to highlight a particular aspect - the magnificent sound, the beautiful guitars, the flawless execution, the fantastic composition or the absolute passion of two masters on their instrument.
The sickest song of all time. That intro riff and the drums take this song for a ride for sure. Amazing album!
Justin is such a great writer. And his taste in tone is impeccable.
The playing is so CLEAN! Phenomenal!
So sick. That Ultra V has my favorite Carvins headstock.
man i used to think cosmic dissonance was top tier TZP, just heard this for the first time and wow.. thoroughly impressed with the performance & the composition. Absolutely love the fusion-y vibes that are going on here. Very excited for the next release
