Well, the frustrating part was having to have a pilot truck and then have them leave you "in the dust" part way through the construction...to me, it's interesting how they rip up both sides of the road at the same time!

It was neat to see...I'm thinking if I ever had back to Dawson City, the plane would be the way to get there lol...I've had enough gravel in the Yukon and Alaska to last a lifetime, lol. Dawson City, or the rather the Yukon, kind of looks like it's frozen in time, a view of the past, lots of history. I do hope to experience the Yukon... just not looking forward to being run down by a grader though. I loved this video, Jody 😁🤗 in spite of the missing Harley rider 😂

Frozen in time is the perfect description for this town. I fear there will always be road construction...always, always, always, and lots of it. That's just the way it is up there!

That is a beautiful area! The history is very interesting and entertaining. At least they attempt to keep the roads in decent condition. Lol…. Glad the grader didn’t get you! Ride safe!

Yes, Willy! Very neat town ...frozen in time ...the cruise ships send their passengers up to tour Dawson City, so they have a pretty good reason to keep those roads the best they can! South of Dawson City, the road was wide to accomodate the tour busses. You be safe too! Our snow is almost all gone! Sent out your stickers today! 🤗💜

Thank you, Grant! Hope You're having a great day! I didn't show in the video but one of the buildings has a whole outside wall that is covered with flattened oil barrels. They didn't have a lot of resources for the building so that's what they ended up covering the outside wall with. Thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video! Wouldn't it be fun to fly in a seaplane?

That place looks so chill and historic that it looks like it's frozen in time. It was good that you got 2 days there because time slowed down for you. You should have practiced drifting on the dirt road! Thanks for sharing!!!

Yep, you can get Saskatoon berry pies at the Saskatoon farms south of Calgary where I live. Nanaimo bars are good for a nice sugar rush 😁. Man, hitting a gravel road being grated is no fun on three wheels and brutal on two wheels 😳

Oh, yummy! Maybe someday we'll get to taste a Saskatoon pie! Yes, those bars were sweet but oh so good! Very different than anything we've ever eaten...Actually, and you can ask TommyG, he had an easier time on the gravel roads than I did...the Spyder clearance is only 4 inches and some of the rocks went up that high in the deep sections. Also, the roads (not these ones...they weren't bad in this regard) are not "even" so my front tires couldn't be at the same level...I had to go slowly. Yes, not going to tip over but also didn't want to have to fix a flat or have something worse happen!

Nanaimo bars... sweet !!! ... pun intended 😂

It was a fun town frozen in time...very laid back! That dirt road was the highway, lol! I have a whole new appreciation for the roads in the lower 48!

Jody, you're definitely a pro at riding your F3 off road by now. Also, kudos to Tommy G for his 2 wheel off-road skills.

The fires were serious. Going up we couldn’t see more than 1/2 mile. Lucky the wind shifted coming back but the pine tree tops were on fire as we rode past. Thanks for sharing Dawson. We weren’t able to get there for same reason.

That depended... Are very first day of our trip was over 600 miles... But I do recall one day when we were riding home and we only went 60 miles 😁😅... Depended what we wanted to see.

Such an interesting city. The church there was pretty old (from 1902) and I found interesting also the ships and their fate. Is there a possibility fly just for some 15 to 30 min? The cake was small, but I would eat it anyway. :)

Thank you, Gregor...I just checked (by golly Google makes it so we never have to wonder lol) and you can take a 20 or 45 min tour of the area...20 minutes is $145 Canadian dollars which would be $107.14 US dollars....that would have been fun for sure...perhaps if we ever have the opportunity to go back! 🙏🏻🤗💜

I lived on our sailboat in the Carribean for a few years. Worked mostly on St Thomas but flew on the sea planes to St Croix weekly. We all continue to enjoy your Alaska adventure. Meh, too bad about Tommy G.

Roadworks can be frustrating. Dawson City reminds me alot of Hill End here in Australia ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/pI150LaMftSqoc4.html ) . I could watch those sea planes take off and land all day.

Riding in the Yukon and Alaska was very frustrating due to the enormous amount of roadwork at one time...it's nothing like the rest of the US...
