I dunno about sets, but my favorite card from back in highschool is Magical Dimension. It just felt like the perfect magician play for a spellcaster deck, quick effect send your spellcaster monster to destroy an opponents and special out a big one from your hand loke Dark Magician of Chaos. Because it was quick effect and quick effect was rare, many people didn't know how easily they could waste an MST or a destruction effect when you had this and you could just turn the tables around so beautifully.

Gotta go with Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon, and Monster Reborn. It was my favorite thing in the world to MR my opponents Ace Monster and beat them in the face with it as a kid. The narrative power it holds in the manga is something that almost can't be duplicated . Yugi sending it with Gold Sarc to stop Atem and symbolically tell him he can pass on peacefully is my favorite panel in Yu-Gi-Oh. R.I.P Kazuki Takahashi.

The fact they pulled four of the exact same holo cards is hilarious.

You know what's ironic; these re-releases of these classic booster boxes would have come in handy for Rare Hunters... SOME, not all. I wonder why Konami didn't just release all 1st series boxes like Magician's Force or Soul of the Duelist? Not complaining, it's better than paying 1000 dollars for 5-6 packs. This was an insane duel too! Keep up doing more whacky, chaos duels hehe! It's also crazy how Paul and Trell got the same similar Foil Rares. Then again, it is old booster boxes but at least you can get both a rare and the other higher rarity too.

That was something I didnt know I needed untill it happened, and nothing could have been a better surprise. Please keep up the amazing work and it was awesome to see Trell dueling.

You guys should try running meta decks from different eras of yugioh history against each other. Idk how good Konami’s tournament decklist reporting/keeping is or if that info is still available, but it’d be neat to see classic decks run against other decks they were never matched against (or even ones from the same era for a classic match-up). You guys could pick some of your favorite decks of past eras and run them against each other.

@@EBlade3529 Idk, I think it’d be fun to watch replications of old meta match-ups at the least would maybe be more appealing. Although to be fair I wasn’t actually thinking of matching modern decks against old decks, more pulling from different eras from the games meta history (think hand control versus Monarchs versus destiny heroes, versus Skill Drain Aggro) with maybe a cutoff to when the game became all OTK combos and counters (which is where my knowledge and nostalgia for the game end anyway, lol).

I remember pulling Invader of Darkness as a kid and thought he was the coolest looking guy and i made him my boss monster,my friends teased me how he was weaker than blue eyes and his effect was bad,but now in 2023 he can hard counter runick lol. I still love his artwork

Invader of Darkness is awesome even if he had less value in the past. lol I liked twin-headed thunder dragon and I would boost it to beat blue eyes; one of my first rare cards I ever got that no one else had at the time. I got ripped on tons for using it at all over just summoned skull or BE and just drop poly and regular thunder dragons even back in the day people liked to meta

This is why old school yu gi oh was so much fun. A lot of trap cards and back and forth 10+ turn duels. No super unbreakable boards and just spirit of fun. Great video guys.

IOC was definitely my favorite set as a kid. Pulled a 1st edition BLS with 5 packs and won a lot of school duels with it.

Invasion of chaos was my favorite set. I got my boss monster Gren Maju de Eiza. Funny thing is I got all three copies out of all the cards I bought, then started tinkering with what would later be the banish mechanic. I never could build a deck with the simple things I had… but Gren won me a few games against my friends who played tournaments. Especially when they crashed into a 4k or 8k Gren that was face down for game. Love this set.

That first duel, Paul would've had a bigger chance to win if he just used Chaos Dragon's effect. With Trell's hand placed on the board at that moment, it seems he has 2-3 cards, equaling about 3000 damage. I don't know how many cards Paul had in hand, but 4 would've won him the game, and anything less gave him open opportunity to win with a weaker card if available. Don't be lazy and do the math with your moves duelists, there is ALWAYS a way.

I miss this. You just don’t see moments like these in modern yu gi oh ❤

Those games were sick! The exchange of traps in game 1 was really cool to watch. If I could change one thing, I would suggest that you don't discuss with each other beforehand what you've pulled! Surprise each other with your holos!

Favorite sets were IOC and Ancient Sanctuary. Sanctuary in the Sky, Archlord Zerato, Mazera DeVille: Dope AF. However, my favorite Deck was and always will be Chaos Warriors.

My favorite monster card is Amazoness Swords Woman. Favorite set? Hard to choose. Old sets had a few good cards like blue eyes, dark magician, the pieces of exodia. Then another set had mirror force

My favorite set for nostalgic reasons is Metal Raiders and King of Mythical Beasts. But for fav monster I'd have to pick Magician's Force and Dark Magician Girl.

Why are there so few light monsters in this set?!

I actually talked myself into getting an IoC booster box a couple of days after it came out (wasn't going to originally as I already bought a few tins and some boxes already). Asked for a box to be set aside as the shop only had 2 left in stock when I checked online. Came to buy the box and asked to be given the box that was not left aside for me (last time something was set aside, I had horrible luck). Came home to open the box that I purchased and managed to pull CED, BLS and Dimension Fusion!!

Yeah because it involved some level of strategy and interaction that wasn't just "The opponent is going first! They're about to auto pilot combos that take 7 hours to sit through. Interrupt them with hand trap negates! If you can't, you instantly lose."

Surprisingly entertaining and interactive duels ! Might have been cool to maybe mix 2 boxes together and maybe the *Ace* monsters should be picked at random (aka be face down and revealed during the duel).

Yu-Gi-Oh! was so much better when everything was simple. 😢

I first played Pokémon, then played YuGiOh when it first came out and have since changed to Magic in the past 10+ years, but watching this, while fun, seems like YuGoOh is legit just like a fake card game now. I'm still digging the videos.

I have a core memory of pulling a Chaos Emperor Dragon from a pack I won from winning a bike race at boy scouts. I had no clue of what game breaking monster I pulled during the time but it was my favorite card because of how cool it looked.

I love these old sets from my childhood, but i hate how everyone makes pretty much the same deck . The beauty of these early 2000's sets is it's the only time in yugioh where you could build a deck that was actually unique to you, instead of playing an archetype (or combo of archetypes).

I think it'd be cool to see a " I heard this card is busted" where you use the og cards or cards that sound like current meta. I.e Fenrir to represent kashtira fenrir or the original Izishu cards

This is why I love the old classic cards before GX came out. Yu-Gi-Oh back then left room for competitiveness without winning/losing duels in 1 or 2 turns. Players should be able to have some rooms for counterplay. Cards nowadays have too much negating effects and summoning power in one turn. Please delete all cards from the game starting from GX to now. Maybe that will bring interest into Yu-Gi-Oh again.

Favorite classic set will always be metal raiders me my brother and nephew played duelist kingdom style where you can summon anything so when I pulled a secret rare B. Skull Dragon(which also is my favorite classic card) it was able to get over both of their starter deck blue eyes because I chose yugi lol

Do the reprint sets have their cards errataed like Chaos Emperor Dragon? Or do they still have their original effects?

I would have mixed up the emperor dragon/black luster upside down and made my opponent choose it during shuffles for game. Making it a mystery on who has it for both players

Chaos Emperor is incredibly weak without stuff like Sangan/Witch because your opponent will always have the advantage otherwise.

I pulled CED my first and only box (so far lol) and not much else. It was bitter sweet, to say the least (as the erratum is printed on these reprints of course)

Lol, I had flash backs about playing around this time and putting one monster in defense before attacking with the others to play around zero gravity...

this was a fun watch

I don’t really have a favorite set BUT I have a favorite card and it actually was summoned in this duel and it’s guardian angel joan for a long time I had not many cards and my cousin actually gave me his cards and the boss monster of my very first deck was guardian angel Joan 😅

Trell and Paul should do this same thing except with Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon. Invader of Darkness does love Trell, even if it is drawn by his opponent.

My all time favorite card that I have is Dark Necrofear that I've drawn from a Labyrinth of Nightmare pack
