The Young Maccabees - Sr. Clare Crockett
On November 14, Sr. Clare Crockett’s birthday, we present the full video clip of her playing the song of “The Young Maccabees”, the music of which she herself composed. The lyrics are a poem written by Sr. Estela, as in the case of “I Prefer Paradise”. The song encourages university students to not let themselves be seduced by the lies the world has to offer and to be brave and defend the truth, even unto death, like the seven young brothers of the Book of Maccabees. The song ends with Our Lady, the captain of our army, who leads the youth to the victory of love.
The video is from that night of December 2015 in which Sr. Clare was not feeling well (as explained in the film on her life "All or Nothing: • All or Nothing: Sr. Cl... . She did not have the lyrics of the song, nor the chords, nor voice to sing… And yet she did not make excuses and she generously gave her all. As she sings the last verse, “Mary, for You and always with You,” she interrupts the song for a moment and remarks, “This is what we have to sing as we are being killed.” Martyrdom was very present in her mind during these last months of her life. She saw Our Lady as the one who would give her and her Sisters strength “now and at the hour of our death,” as we pray in every Hail Mary.

Our son has a brain tumor and the treatment hasn't worked. We are praying to Sister Claire each day for her to ask the Lord for a miracle. Sister Clare needs a miracle to become a saint and we need a miracle for our son.So please if you read this say a Hail Mary asking God intercession for our son.Thanks
Indeed , God gave her what she wanted . To be a famous nun . Am in uganda but she's such an inspiration. One day one time , I will also be a unique priest , may God be with us all . I have learnt from her so much . It's either all or nothing

More than that God has made her a saint!
The fact Sr Clare did that with a Migraine just shows how Mary helped her to do it for the Glory of God
I have Come to know Sister Clare just a few months ago and I pray to her. You can see the pain she is going through singing this song. Bless us Sister Clare through the intercession of the Virgin Mary. She will be a Saint in the near future I Pray.

She is and was a saint. What if worldly declaration is late.
I went to her grave in Derry last Sunday. Sadly her father died a few weeks ago. You wouldn't believe how many homes in Derry now have a photo of her. There is a beautiful gable end photo of Sister Clare Crockett in her native Brandywell.
Happy heavenly Birthday Sr Clare, you are always loved & will never be forgotten! Our hearts still ache just thinking you are no longer with us...

Beautiful Sr. Clare. We cannot even see any inch of you being sick at that moment. You sing like you are very well because we now God is giving you strength and engery despite at the state of your weaknesses. If we became tired because we are serving the Lord beyond the capacity of our body. Surely God will give us reason to regain 10x of our strength. I love you and I will always use you as an example in the name of God in my Evangelization.

You should totally make a pilgrimage! I live in the United States near Canada, so it would be pretty hard for me to go! But if I was in Ireland I would definitely try to go!
