This is the first time I agree with Baba, He made fantastic points. We must return to regional governance systems for peace to reign and for economic development. People who are opposing regional autonomy can help themselves by researching reliable data about Nigeria's security system and the state of economy before 1966. Nigeria currency; 98kobo (which is less than 1Naira) was equal to 1$USD. Nigeria was a leading exporter of countless cash crops such as cocoa, rubber, coal, groundnut etc.

These are the problems of one Nigeria. 1. The Fulani are lazy conquerors who think that Nigeria is the home of all Fulani visitors, both here and abroad. 2. The oil has made Nigerians lazier that the minerals in their domain are neglected. 3. Regionalism is freedom from domination and hence true federalism is No No for the Fulani people. 4. Power is just like a blood for the Fulani people, so centralism and not true federalism is anathema to them.

All what Pa Ayo Adebanjo is saying was contained in Aburi agreement between Ojukwu and Gowon. Now the eyes of every one is open, they can see what Ojukwu saw 50 years ago. For instance there is no country in the world where Federal govt funds local govt. Local govt council is the problem of states. How can you explain to me that Kano has 44 LGA and should be funded by FG while bayelsa have 8 LGA. It means Kano will receive FG money 5 times more than Bayelsa. Why not states look after their LG. The constitution must be changed. It's the creation of the Military. It makes running of the govt very expensive. Another one is "how can Inspector General in Abuja be the head of security in a state when he doesn't live in that state. The position of Inspector General should be scrapped to allow the state Governors appoint and remove commissioner of police. The last but not the least is "Rotational Presidency". One Region want to continue ruling a country where there are more than 300 ethnic nationalities. The presidency should be rotated between the regions to give every region sense of belonging. There is no region that doesn't have a good person to pick from. God bless Pa Ayo Adebanjo.

Nigeria is a multi national country. Each Nation should rule itself and control the security of their country by themselves. All we want is Yoruba Nation. One country with same culture, same language, same dressing. Everything the same. Let each nation govern its own people. All we want is YORUBA NATION and we want it peacefully with no war, no force. The President should discuss, with the people agitating in a peaceful manner, with UN representative present.

Like it or lump it, there will be many more attempts to dissolve the contraption called Nigeria. Whoever told you Sir that Nigerians want to be lumped together was economical with the truth. Nigeria is not a nation. The peoples of Nigeria are too culturally diverse. They speak different languages, for example. There are hardly any national symbols for Nigerians to cohere around.

Yoruba position is centered on true federalism or regionalism. That position was also among President Tinubu’s demands during NADECO years. Even though today Yorubas are in control of Nigerian power structures, they lack the capacity and ethnic strength needed to make that happen. That is why we should support Igbo presidency because it will be backed with the vast and overwhelming Igbo ethnic strength and capacity to carry out big difficult tasks successfully

You’ve got to understand that immense power is resident at the Nigeria Federal government and whoever is the head has almost absolute powers, including that of coercion, to make things happen. Understand that Fulani as a single minority tribe by population has been able to hold Nigeria hostage to a Unitary system of government for a long time, despite strong oppositions from at least 80 percent of Nigeria tribes. Tinubu lacks the capacity, as a result, lack political will to bring about big positive changes, such as true federalism or regionalism

The only impediments to restructuring is the fear of the Igbos. Hausa-Fulani fears that restructuring will legitimately put arms into the hands of the Igbos. They fear Igbo secession from Nigeria because restructuring will allow Igbos to arm to the teeth and remove their influence in Igboland. Igbos are the only ethnic nation the Hausa-Fulani are very afraid of. Even Britain will advise Hausa-Fulani against restructuring because of the Igbos.

Blame former Oba of Benin and Britain who advised against confederation agreed at Aburi. Blame incompetent Northern leaders and Yorubas who have not been able to rule effectively because of low IQ. The last time I checked Igbos have been out of power since 1966. Peter Obi picked hausa/fulani as a running mate, but you are here saying yoruba is ganging up against ibo. Ibo believe in violence to resolve the secession issues, but yoruba believe in diplomatic ways. So, not following your path is a gang up to you? Yoruba thinks ahead and makes decisions that will affect his future positively. Ibo sees enemy in every tribes and stick to ibo believe. Tinubu saw future and worked toward it, by working with hausa ahead of time. Peter Obi saw future and moved away from better chance of becoming a power house in Aso rock. If Peter Obi stays with Atiku, now ibo will be the second man in the nation and work his way to be president. I dislike tinubu, but tinubu will go full length 8 years. After 8 years, brain power of ibo will be on play again. Mind you, Peter Obi is failing already by seeking favours from hausa.

If Nigeria is to adopt this then we should be ready for over 200 regional governments where at least every ethnic group will have their own government. Don't you think having such micro government would result to bastardization of the country. To me i do not think our problem is the system of government but we the people who must display good values, integrity and selfless service the ethos of "Omoluabi" No matter the level of restructuring if the people and perhaps leaders attitude and behavior did not change it will amount to nothing.

There are over 200 tribes in Nigeria and any tribe that wants to dictate to the other tribes is just wasting its time. Let Mr. Adebanjo point out specifics in the Nigerian constitution that make the constitution unacceptable to some members of his tribe. The Nigerian constitution was not created by the military in the army barracks. Nigerians representing different tribes(including Mr. Adebanjo's tribe) and institutions created the constitution even if they did so during a military regime. It is therefore wrong to refer to the constitution as a military document. It is not practical to create a constitution that will be 100% acceptable to all the different tribes in Nigeria. This is where Democracy comes in and the majority carries the day. Nigeria's present system of government was copied from the USA system. America is operating the same constitution that a few of its citizens created over 300 years ago. Nigeria is only 60 years old and has changed her system of government several times and some tribal die-hards even want the constitution re-written. I believe that all tribes should work together to build a better Nigeria.

So what and what is Nigeria doing the same with America? I live in America, they have an independent electoral body who conduct elections without the politicians messing it up. The judiciary is independent too, there is State police etc. What do you have in Nigeria.. politicians using thugs and miscreants to rig elections and you call that Democracy? When you guys want to change, you will be serious.
