The Yew Epoxy Resin coffee table no.1 - River table
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This table is a totally new design for me using only 3 connection and steam bent oak for legs which can be removed for shipping the yew slab was cut down in 1940
Using 50mm Glasscast - which is a new deep pour Epoxy makes build up time much quicker and is super clear, this is a brand new product from Easycomposites

This table arrived well packaged and on time. kzread.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!
This is by far the nicest epoxy table I've seen. Very impressive.
You are a cross between an artist and a woodworker....
Best craftsmanship I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I m asking how much effort is being put forward by you all in preserving the environment. Well done. This is one of the nicest live edge and epoxy tables I've seen, simply because you seem to have a good knowledge of colour and the care and foresight needed to properly combine mechanical lines with natural ones. I suspect either you're very well read in the field or there's a formal design education there. If not, you truly have an incredible gift. Many thanks for the video, it was a pleasure to watch.

Thank you so much for your kind words . What a lovely start to Sunday :) also for taking the time to comment.. I am self taught but have always been into design and architecture . Resin has opened new possibilities for me working with very figured "character "wood which I have alway loved but the style had become a bit chunky and rustic for my taste resin has really given it the modern kick it needed..

Excellent job. Im not a carpenter but ive been surprised the way you used plane (towards)🤔. Never in my life seen that technique and after few seconds on google find out there is Japanese plane to use that way 😳 keep up good work :)
A table like that should sell for several thousand dollars, but most people compare it to the cheap factory junk that you can buy at Ikea for a fraction of the price. Anyway, I hope you got a fair price for it. Your work is beautiful!
Isn't yew one of the most rarest and expensive woods you can get. I love the glass and smoky glass looks. Fantastic job.

the tabletop is gorgeous, personally i don't like the leg bits that come above the tabletop, i would prefer something that's level with the top.
Amazing table and craftsmanship well done
This added me to your channel AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!! I have a 8 ft section of tree one side flat one side burned out my Dad had and he has been gone 30 years this year, live edges and I want to do something with it, maybe a shelf and another piece as a coffee table. I think it is walnut but has maybe 1 to 2 inches burnt out in middle, you have given me such ideas, THANK YOU !!
@ManorWood
6 жыл бұрын
Cool. thanks for you support .. sounds like you have a cool project. I would say give the edge a really clean as when you pour the resin small bits may come out of the burned edges and then be frozen in the resin for ever :( .. one trip is paint the resin on with a brush on all edge and around the edges before the big pour. let it almost set or if fully set you just need to key it with a find grit.
Wow, 1940... Well I guess it is more than ready for the transformation to begin... Was well worth the wait, that table is damn sexy, mate. Do you know what it will be used as? dining, coffee, entry, console table? If dinning, I'm super curious as to what chairs they would choose.... You rock, man. Fantastic job.

Beautiful work! Well worth a subscribe after browsing your channel, massively jealous of your workshop too! I did my first epoxy table using glass cast 10 with good results, just about to do another now this glass cast50 has come out. What are you brushing on the edges at 00:56? Is this to "prime" the edges prior to the pour? Thanks, I look forward to watching more of your content!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant, this is a dream table, the most beautiful wild looking piece of carpenter's art. Sincere congratulations.
I noticed 1K dislikes. Yet I'm sure not one of those haters could do better.
How much would some like this table cost I am very curious please comment back thank you very much
Jaw dropping craftsmanship. Not enough words to describe this...
золотые руки,светлая голова и бесподобный вкус ! БРАВО !!!! ЧУДЕСНО И ИЗЫСКАННО !!!!!
Very attractive, but your structural mounting seems very weak...from 3 points at the ends of a long piece of fractured wood, and all the weight is shearing on your domino pegs and not notched into or over the long axis of the legs. The legs were also a tight fit into the cutouts, which will tend to split the yew grain at that point. Mainly a decorative table, but any amount of weight on it would likely cause damage, like someone carelessly sitting on it at a party.
@ManorWood
5 жыл бұрын
It’s a one off , for display really with epoxy added at the leg to top connection you could jump up and down on it and it would break . But I am using it to show what’s possible and only need a small Allen key to break it down it working very well for me creating a lot of interest at shows etc.. the 3 corners are stabilised with resin so will not give way

The legs sticking up at the corners in this fashion are indicative of a country style kitchen table rather than the high end art deco market the rest of the support struture would suggest, but enough fancy words it looks out of pleace and yup ya beers could come a croppa in no time ;)

The legs/base is unattractive and detracts from the finished piece. Something sculptural would be more appropriate. The two parts are are fighting each other visually.
Superb craftsmanship. The table legs are as well-crafted as the tabletop itself.
