Beautiful truck. That's when cars and trucks were made of all metal. 1965 was the year I became a teenager. Fond memories of a simpler time.

me too.. i turned 13 that year.. 65 and the next few years was a very dark time in our country.. maybe not so fond memories for a lot of people but for sure as you say "a simpler time" seems our nation lost its innocence when Kennedy was shot and things went down hill for several years after that.. thank you for taking the time to watch this. please stop in again :)

Thanks for the history lesson Ken. As a Dodge fan I am happy to see you save the ole 65. My Dad had one like it until he bought a new 79 two wheeler half ton. The 65 was twice what the 79 was, but we kept it until we had a few good years farming and then bought a brand new 1990 Dodge 250 4x4, 5 speed, Diesel. Still have the diesel. My 2 boys and I really enjoy your videos, Keep them coming!!!

Man, I was just a 2 year old baby back in 1965, but I remember many songs, motion pictures & tv shows from 1965. I especially remember that song, Eve Of Destruction by Barry Mcguire that was powerful & told it like it was & to some extent still is. Anyway, much gratitude for the history lesson about 1965. I think that light blue 1965 Dodge truck is a d-200 3/4ton 2 wheel drive since I think I noticed the 8 lugs around the mid chrome wheels. It may also have a 318 v-8 like my truck, only unlike my truck I think this truck has manual transmission while my 1969 Dodge has automatic.

Thanks for the nostalgic look back. Dad bought our 1965 Oldsmobile jetstar 88 brand new off the showroom for $2265 and complained about the amount well it was still a lot of money in '65 when dad only made $151 a week. I remember when gas was 23 cents a gallon lol Well you did a nice job on that old '65 dodge. You really done it up right Ken. Thanks for sharing

I was only nine in '65 but I remember most of what you were telling of the history going on, and I surely remember how all the neighbors in our small community would come together when someone close was called up in the draft, and how everyone was worried who was next to be called up.... Thanks for the refresher course and thanks for all your videos.... Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and all your viewers....

I was 5 years old in 65’ and we were living in the south side of Chicago then but fortunately we moved here to Ky in 67’. That’s where my Dad was originally from, the hills of Ky., but my Uncle had got him on at Dixie Cup-Lexington. Anyways, I was glad to get away from Chicago, that part of town we lived at was pretty rough even back then. I still remember watching tv and the news about Nam back in 65’, and I remember all of what you talked about here, besides the war in Nam it was still pretty good old days, just cause I was a kid I reckon! I knew a lot of older boys who went over there, a few of them were my kin, and luckily about all of them made it back home too( thank the lord)! Anyhow I’m rattling on , Great videos brother man, I appreciate the older stuff like you bring to your videos! I really Dig them! 👍✌🏻🇺🇸

Spent most all of 65 at the repo depot at Fort Benning, checking guys in headed to Nam and notifying wives and family that many weren't coming home. A job like that plays on you for a long time. Good Video, good looking truck.

Mr Norm signed the grove box I paid $3109.00 a great car it's had a 160 . Lime green with black inter I sold it in 1990 for $ 15000. Gas was $.29 per gallon in 69 . Love your story time. I remember while attending Western tech college in Denver in 1971... there would be gas wars between stations which were on the same corner.. gas would get down to 22 cents.. but then we'd get out on the freeway and call it "highway robbery" when we had to pay .35/gal!!!

When you start worrying about those little "possibilities" is when you do begin to slow down. It is a natural part of the process. When I first started feeling the everyday aches and pains I thought it was a temporary thing, like I had had all through my life, which were usually over in a day or so. Well it has been 15+ years and they haven't gone away, but increased. Enjoy your spry while you have it my friend and keep exercising, it does help!

1965 was the year that I bought my first car to drive on the street, a 1946 Mercury coupe, I still have it. One of these days I hope to get it back on the road but I don't think it is going to happen, life kind of happens. I was 15 in 1965 and that was also the year my wife was born, yes I know, a cradle robber, but she is the best thing ever happened to me, been together 25 years now. Like how the Dodge turned out.

!965 .....1st year out of High School, the world at my finger tips. I remember vividly, everything you talked about in this video and more. Seemed like yesterday. Ahhhh, those were the days......Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes. Funny thing about these old Dodge trucks. They seemed pretty ugly back in the day, but now...... not so much. I like!
