It all started cause the NISS and ASA PRO TOUR inline contests were doing well on ratings on TV, ESPN thought they needed a slice of that market too, and hence the X-Games were born. Would be nice if they put blading back in the event, I´m sure bladers won´t disapoint

The 1080 california roll is still one of the best tricks in extreme sports imo. iThe way he just floats sideways spread out and then suddenly snaps in and makes the spin happen. It is a perfect mix of style and difficulty.

The Yasutoko Brothers are secret characters that require you to complete the game and still use cheat codes to unlock. Classic X games... The nostalgia.

@@jsbmx2039 the so cal street skating scene to over park and vert the premium got put on rail skating and doing stunts off of roofs. Most aggressive inline skaters didn't want to take the time to train and practice to compete at the highest levels the look at their craft as a way to travel and party

This was definitely the golden era of action sports.

I started inline skating purely cause of the yasu brothers. Took me years before i could do a a simple backflip in the vert. Nowadays this isnt a xgames sport anymore, but inlining needed a shitload of efford and guts.

More of this content please. Blading deserves a place at the table.

Mine unfortunately died when i grew out of my blades... That might be the reason why it tapered off. Skateboarding is so easy to just pick up and do for anyone. With blades you have to change shoes and you grow out of them pretty quick if you start young. Plus the level of innovation with skating has just been constant while blading kinda hit a ceiling. Eventually it just got stale for fans.

How can you have xgames without this, I loved watching this, just imagine what they could do now good God xgames make it happen.

bought my first pair of inlines as an adult this week and i never knew how awesome it could be! such an incredible sport

And they're both still KILLING it to this day. Check out Takeshi's street run at fise a few years back and tell me rollerblading ain't cool

This is so amazing, and to think that Takeshi is still skating on a professional level today is mind blowing. Would be so cool to see the current pros push themselves in an x-games setting.

I still miss those inline events.

YES and these days the game is so advanced. Blading is prime to return. Money is flowing in BIG TIME.

The yasutoko brother's were absolute Titans of their sport. They carried speed and amplitude like nobody else could. I really do miss watching this event, it's a shame that they just disappeared it

Those brothers are the best on Vert. This was 17 years ago! and look at the height and the tricks they were doing back then. Get blading back.

Blading could be back in the XGames before we know it. XGames YT channel just celebrated Fabiola Da Silva- the greatest female rollerblader ever imo. Blading is making a huge resurgence with the COVID hiatus. All skate companies were sold out of skates. There is a skate shortage. The influx of capital should get things mainstream again. BRING BLADING BACK PLEASE

It should. Blading is alive and well. It just needs to be broadcast.

Ah. This is when inline vert was at its best. A couple years back a double backflip was enough to win any event and people were like 'this is peak performance' Then the Yasutokas showed us how wrong we were

remember a couple movies like brink and the one with jack black that had rollerblading. I've tried putting on skates and that's a lot harder than skateboarding. was pretty cool to see some of this back then

I remember watching this live being mad hype on the yasutoko runs! Takeshi was killin it with the switch ups then chucking that 1440 at only 17yrs old!Timeless!!!

I used to inline alot back in the 90s and early 2000s the yasutoko brothers were my idols so happy to get a nostalgia bomb dropped on me

Should never have been removed from the xgames. Especially with talents like the yasutoko brothers.

The Yasutoko brothers were absolute madlads, for any non skater it seems difficult but if you skated you would know what they do is bordering on the impossible. My god how I miss skating, some of the best times of my life for sure.

Brings back good memories, Yasutoko bros were unstoppable! Big props to all bladers and I hope Aggressive Inline makes a comeback in X-games:- )

X-Games was amazing every summer. Loved watching all the events, Skateboarding, Inline, BMX, Moto. Watching old throwback X-Games and then found Street Luge! That was an awesome event too.

The Yasutokos are amazing

Inline skating was the one single sport I used to watch on X Games and for me it was reason enough to love and consider the X games the coolest thing in sports. Do bring it back, guys!

i started skating inline back in 2002 as a 10 year old, right in the peak!

Absolutely amazing! So sad that xgames took inline skating away

bring rollerblading back the sport has very much evolved since the mid 90s early 00s please at least give it a chance. its 2020 and nostalgia still brings in money.

THERE IS SOOOO MUCH MONEY OUT THERE NOW. Danny Beer who rides for THEM skates is making awesome royalties. Skaters just need a chance for exposure with events... LIKE XGAMES. Razors and USD are doing great things as well. The sport is so much stronger at its core because its mostly OWNED BY BLADERS - FOR BLADERS! The companies now care and with COVID all skate shops sold out worldwide basically. Good luck finding any size 9 or 10 XD. Razors even is making the SHIMA 2's again!!

You know what’s interesting, I really feel they were SO good and set the bar so high that they may have destroyed the sport since most people realized there wasn’t even a point of competing anymore when nobody was going to be able to touch their talent for nearly a decade.

Anyone else record this on vhs as a kid? And remember when street luge and sky diving was in the xgames?

This was my favorite as a teenager. So sad aggressive inline got pulled from the xgames. Bring it back. Keep inspiring generations to come. It's the right thing.

I love this! I greatly miss it being a feature sport at the X games. Just finished watching the 1999 park competition and it is hard to believe that many people were there to watch, the stands were packed! I miss that vibe. Would love to see you bring this back and see where the sport goes! Thank you!

Jaded skateboarders killed inline. I was one. Now we’ve all got bad backs and knees, and are learning to fall in love with the sport we once looked down on for no reason.
