Interchangeable battery may be a plus if ever we get better, longer lasting ,and more powerful battery tech down the line, but we need something that will do at least 70 mph top speed or better to make it a hit here in North America. give it a smaller 1-1/4 tow receiver for small trailers and this would be a smash hit for any day campers.

@@johnf3326 indeed small, under perfect conditions up to 10kW per day. So 5kW per day seems more reasonable. But on a good day that means €2.50 on free energy every day. €75 per month.

I really want canoo to offer granularity in their packages of features on the vehicle instead of having to take leather seats which I don't like to get the better sound system or the self-parking feature whatever you have to accept a whole group of other b******* that you have to pay for. What I want is the ability to say I want this this and this but not that or that or that. We really need to convince Canoo that that's a huge selling point for people to go with them over or in addition to their very reasonable price for a very Advanced electric vehicle. Price isn't everything. And for the first year of a car manufacturer, it's a big risk to the buyer that he's not buying an absolute lemon/money pit.

This looks like LEGO®(™) slapped a bunch of bricks together and said, "let's just see what happens". Face it. It's shaped like an air brake. The Pop-Top camper is a massive plus, though. I wish more companies employed this. As you know, I'm not that big on horsepower, but more so on torque. However, that horsepower is really low out of the box. That Middle School Basketball comment had me crying in a good way. Great scripting, mate! Canoo is still gonna be my go-to, though. We shall see what happens.

Well Lego modularity was literally the inspiration. Also this thing won’t often go on highways so aerodynamics aren’t an issue. Oh and unlike canoo this is cheaper and more compact

Do we have an approx price yet with the extra battery? Without the extra battery there isn't much point to it. Hope they make some more subtle and beautiful colours!

The range of the basic version is small: the battery with a capacity of 10 kWh will provide no more than 87 miles in the mixed cycle. You can order a 30 kWh battery and the mileage on a single charge will increase to 261 miles. Solar panels on the roof contribute to energy savings (also an option).

This is one EV camper I want to buy. Hope the cooktop is electric rather than gas. Save the space for having a gas bottle. If they would bring it to Australia, I would buy it in a heart beat.

I like it, the camper looks interesting and something I would buy. To be honest if they could get 70mph out of it and still have over 200 miles of range it would be a great buy and suitable for most van life..

@@spankeyfish That's a shame, still I bet you could ease a little more out of it. Just replacing the steel wheels with lightweight alloy wheels and replacing what you could with lightweight alternatives will get you that extra four miles to hit 60. Least that way it can be used and is no slower than an old camper van. But if the motor isn't maxed and it's firm wear limiting it to 90 Kph then you should be able to get it remapped.

XBus won‘t come. Sadly. They are just beating a dead horse for some more promo at this point. Loved the concept though. Their down-to-earth camper concept would have been really something for me.

This is perfect for my kid to go to school in.

I would love the camper model. But I was told they have no plans to sell this vehicle in Canada or the USA. Bummer dude, :(

One important aspect you didn't mention was that it's planned to be in L7e-B2 vehicle class, i.e. quadricycle. And they're designing it to the absolute limits of that class in EU. That's why its small, light and has max power of 15kw. And there might be differences for that class in US and Asia so that might be a problem

This is what the software industry called "vapourware ". It hasn't been homologated yet and I have serious doubts whether that forward cab would survive a head on or even lateral crash.

In the EU it's in the same category as a mule and one level up from a golf cart, it doesn't need much homologation. L6 and L7 vehicles don't require crash testing and are generally about as safe as a shopping trolley.

Looks cool but no power and too small. Still waiting for my Canoo adventure van but that may never happen. Rivian needs to make a van ASAP.

Perfect for me here in Florida. I love how it's narrow and got great clearance. Would have been so cool if steering wheel was in the middle. 2:25 is just the very truth.. I just want a blank canvas cargo van to start with.

Eh whatever, I'm resigned to creating my own solar array for the vehicle anyways.

A fantastic little bit of kit. Ticks all the boxes but one. No power. 20 hp/ 61 mph. Just not a viable option for UK roads. V V disappointing but with battery tech advancing as quick as it is, might be a better option in the fullness of time.

The offroad camper model is a nice one, but a little too small for me. I want my own shower and toilet so I can finally shit on my own toilet at festivals instead of overloaded dixies in which a pile of smelly poo with flies is protruding above the toilet seat after a few days.

The range numbers are clearly bogus. Putting in a battery three times the size does not give you three times the range because of the extra battery weight. And the range estimate is the same for all versions, despite the fact that the weight and aerodynamics vary; the inferior aerodynamics of the pickup truck and the Box and the extra weight of the camper will reduce the range of those versions.

I love this option, but Canoo is looking way better, especially the MPDV. I get they're recreating the vw bus, could it be more obvious? Which is great, but I'd like something with a little more power, this thing seems like it might not be able to get over a hill if you load it up too much. And so freaking tiny! I can throw an air mattress in the back of my cmax and sleep back there, and this thing doesn't look much bigger unless you get one of the bigger ones. Plus, I may be able to get my canoo in like 6 months or earlier so...

It's not scare mongering if it's true, and the canoo is not a car, it's a van, an American van, especially the MPDV, unlike this underpowered European thing. But canoo might not happen, so I'm checking out other options, even though I REALLY WANT the MPDV. Europeans have been trained to accept small underpowered cars, the only reason this might be successful especially if canoo succeeds and sells in other countries like they're planning.

@@gadgetsage No we always had way higher gas prices than the US. So smaller cars are a thing here. Btw you can have all sorts of cars with lots of horsepower in Europe. Porsche, Audi, Mercedes...the X-Bus is btw faster than a Volkswagen T1. It's comparable and I think it will be my next car. Love the Solar Panels...
