While I am not a big fan of M&S separation, at least not in the way it was done (8 years strange to each other??? really?) I struggle with it sometimes, because the show has always been about M&S strengh together despite their deferences, but I do agree with the fact that they were very different people and things certainly became rough to the point they needed time away from each other, and that made both Mulder and Scully re-think their priorities. This video reflects this scenarium.
Scully is mostly taken as the responsible for the separation and yeah she was the one that left, but it's not that Mulder was always easy... there is not much about what caused their split, but imo in his devotion to find the truth, Mulder many times failed to see how devastated and guilty Scully felt for giving William up and how much she needed to know he would be there for her when she needed. I believe a while after IWTB he dig so deep into the internet and its conspiracies Theories that he started to neglect her, until she finally left. After she left, Mulder was forced to reflect about all the things he could have done or said to make her stay but he didn't, he basically let her go... to be a doctor, away from him and his obsessions... just eventually he wanted Scully back and for that he had to set his priorities straight: the X files was still important for him, but Scully is his life. #TheXfiles #MulderandScully #fanvidfeed

I have a few videos that I want to finish and post and I am remastering also a few others, so there will be still some videos coming for the time being, I really enjoy vidding and getting into Mulder and Scully's head is always fun, That's really great to know you like them.

I enjoyed your thoughts in the vid description.... personally, I've always felt Scully was willing to give more of herself than Mulder... at least once their relationship developed. Mulder seems to have expected her to just tag along & support his obsessions ... that was rather selfish & narcissistic of him. 🤨 His unwillingness to compromise eventually damaged their "connection" ... she realised she would never have all of him.... but thats what love is ... giving ALL of yourself to your other.... so... did he REALLY love her ?? 🤔 Stay tuned... 😏 😎👍☘🍺

oh you know, I mostly agree with you but I think it's quite complicated ha ha ha... he does love her :), I just think Mulder had a longer journey in terms of giving his ALL to Scully. In his defense, I think that since Requiem he was trying... it just didn't always go very well...

Peter Fitzpatrick - OMG! You are so on target with your comment. As a former MSR fan, I have completely turned against this ship. With Mulder's gas-lighting ways and his self-destructive obsessions. He is so toxic for Scully on so many levels and in the beginning of S10, I actually championed her for garnering the courage to finally say, "Enough is enough," and leave him. Unfortunately, CC gave into the demands of the fans once again and brought them back together. Which ultimately makes Scully look like the abused wife that goes back to her said abuser, time and time again, never to learn her lesson. It's sad really.

@@1980wildfire It's one thing to question the relationship, it's another thing altogether to liken Scully to an abused partner. You brought an agenda to this that was never there. I completely disagree with your view. David and Gillian have kept the integrity of their characters, whatever Chris Carter has thrown at them. Your remarks seem to be to be insulting their acting choices. Why are you watching and commenting if you gave up on this?

Well, I totally agree with you, if you look at all they went through, the separation "per si" already doesn't make sense, but well, I give in that it was a possibility for a short time...the "8 years" came from the noromo head of CC in an infame interview with XFN that suggested they separated short after IWTB, yeah, I remember the boat of course, let's just forget I ever read that... 1 year sounds great to me... what about 6 months?? :)

@@XFyellowbee I've never read that CC interview, and I'm glad I didn't! The period of separation between iwtb and MS1 has never been defined, is not canon, so everyone can define a time. Maybe 6 months is too short, I would say 1, max 2 years. My heart can't take anymore. :)

@@martinafranzini2612 No, it's not in the canon, 1 to 2 years sounds realistic to me .. and it's canon that they kept in contact too. So, maybe this separation was not even, you know, a full, complete separation ... btw you didn't miss anything not reading that interview.
