Scully whining about "all I had for breakfast was a half a cream cheese bagel, and that wasn't even real cream cheese, it was light cream cheese..." cracks me up every time.

One of the best, such a genius episode and so revealing of the way they see each other!

I love how they just randomly dropped in these completely ridiculous episodes out of nowhere. There wasn't a single bad one either, X-Files comedy episodes are some of the best they did and this is one of the best of all.

Something particular to appreciate here is Mulder's perception of himself and Scully's of herself (as well as the way they perceive each other), because she sees him as totally hotheaded and exuberant while she sees herself as a totally calm person with almost nothing to object... And on the other hand Mulder sees her as someone intimidating and hard to please, who complains all the time, while he perceives himself as a "poor man" who is just trying to present the facts of the case in a subtle way so as not to make his partner angry. I mean I find it hilarious when he says "I think that what we MAY BE looking at is what APPEARS to be a series of vampire OR VAMPIRE-LIKE attacks", and then when Scully presents her point of view he says he TOTALLY RESPECTS IT when we already know that his obsession with the paranormal rarely makes him see things in such an objective way. PS: Scully tells the story as if she's flirting with the Sheriff in a very subtle and smooth way, while Mulder makes her look like an agent totally distracted and foolishly enthralled with a man she just met.

The sheriff is movie actor Luke Wilson, brother of Owen Wilson.

One of the best episodes in the series, top 10! Great job on calling the twist!

This episode is a masterpiece (and Gillian Anderson's favorite btw). I love how the story is told first from Scully's perspective, then from Mulder's perspective, but finally they have to go back to the scene and there the story is told objectively like in the rest of the episodes (there we can find out, for example, what were the Sheriff's teeth really like lol).

I love this episode so much - written by Vince Gilligan. I still smile when I see the runaway RV in this episode, knowing exactly where another RV turns up in his future work.

It's literally my favourite episode to introduce people to X-Files.

I'm gonna watch this video so many times I should pay rent.

You got the musical reference! Adding in the Ride of the Valkyries makes things even funnier.

Isn't reality just like this? I mean each one tells the story in the way that is most convenient for oneself, perceiving the facts in the way that each one is used to, as well as perceiving the other in a specific way, and if for example i don't know someone but i'm simply guided by what another person tells me about 'em, obviously my vision will be conditioned.

Not sure why it's noticeable now and not before, but I wanted to give a heads up that you might be getting interference from your other electronics on your mic. I always thought that Luke Wilson was chosen to play the sheriff (who piques Scully's romantic interest) because he looks a bit like David Duchovny... even with the buck teeth. The coroner who gets "gnawed on" is Canadian actor/comedian, Brett Butt. Season 5 was the last one to be filmed in Vancouver before moving the primary filming location to L.A., so I recognize a lot of familiar Canadian actors from the 90's in those first 5 seasons. Also, you know they aren't in Vancouver anymore in season 6 because it's not raining all the time and Anderson's hair doesn't frizz as much.

The way I was also shocked by the opening scene the first time I watched this episode. I said this is really f*cked up.

Not your usual insightful break down but you did say something that made me think.(Molder is a psychological profiler)while(Scully is a medical doctor)so 1 is of the mind while the other is of the body yet their beliefs are the opposite(Molder only believes in physical entities 👽 Scully believes in spiritual entities 👼💭red bull gives you wings 👈😳💭how's that work?

Hilarious play on vampires and the unreliable narrator.

How great it would have been to see this- without you constantly talking over the actors, blabbering during the dramatic pauses in dialogue, your over-dramatic theatrics - and the obnoxious laughing. What a shame. 🤦‍♀️🙄
