Honestly, this isekai, and villainess lvl 99 were the two series of the season that I was hoping to see your reactions to. Glad you're enjoying the correct way of using healing magic, and I cant wait to see how you feel about the later parts of the show

Yeah, that series instilled in us the fear of the Rabbit. There's no unseeing that scene from season 2. Just... damn...

This show deserves more attention.. I've caught up to the latest chapter in the Manga.. it's a FUN show for Sure!!

MVP was baby bear! He was getting revenge no matter what!

2 things I love about this series. 1. It actually gives its characters strong personalities. This is ESPECIALLY important for the MC. This pretty much lets me know that there is an actual story here instead of being just another audience-insert power fantasy with no plot beyond just the concept and the MC effortlessly winning at everything because he's SO COOL(tm). 2. It's not afraid to lean into the comedy and make it a little over-the-top (aka actually funny). I can't stress enough how much comedy and levity is important even to a 'serious' story. It seriously humanizes its characters, makes them likeable and relatable, and thus makes it all the more impactful when they're confronted with hard, terrible, or even horrific situations. Building up the highs makes the fall into the lows that much farther and hit that much harder.

Just blew through and got up to date with the manga, and as entertaining and hilarious as the first three episodes are, this gets really good later on. If you think the bear losing its family is sad, there are parts later on that are going to just rip your heart right out. Real emotional heartstrings. And Rose is absolutely best girl. It's not even close.

On top of all that, the sound design for this show has no right being this damn good.

Mate... I just watched the episode and holy... 10/10 no questions asked, I really love the style and the animation surprised me. A 2D snake is not something you see every day and I'm really happy with this episode as a whole. The bear family was really cute and I wonder if the mission wasn't to kill the bear but rather choose to not do it and subdue it somehow. The snake deserved death because of what it did... Poor baby bear that was tragic to watch. It pulled on some heartstrings. I wasn't expecting the writing to be this good tbh... I thought it'd be a funny show with some cool gimics and stuff but it turns out it has some really good character writing and world building that just makes it rather unique in the already saturated genre. It's honestly surprising... I love this show and I'm already hoping for a S2 and that it won't be like a one and go read the source material series... I feel like this one should get at least 1 or two more seasons and the series isn't even that long in the LN form. Guess it just depends on the popularity 🙏 Great episode and Usato is really shaping up to be a great MC with how he is not afraid to take on a challenge and he still calls Rose a brute which backfired on him of course... I find the V.A reactions pure gold on top of all that was pointed out.

I thought Usato had gained some allies but I guess it was just an ally. Interesting how he was planning on killing the Blue Grizzly's father and their relationship could have been entirely different lol. Kukuru is adorable but not who I thought Rose would keep by her side. Suzune is right to make that comment about Kazuki, it's refreshing to see a male friend that concerned about his friend in comparison to the female friend. But then again, Suzune is not the standard female (secondary) main character lol.

Also, from what his teacher actually said, she wasn't actually expecting him to win and kill the bear. The test was to see how he would react and handle having to fight an opponent several times stronger than himself. It's similar to Star Trek's Kobayashi Maru: throwing the participants against an unwinnable situation to see how they will react. The snake was never even part of the plan, though Rose apparently decided to let it play out and see what our boy would do. So yeah, she never expected or intended for him to actually kill the bear.

I will admit that I wasn't expecting to like this as much I am based on the description. Definitely a hidden gem.

Him getting the Blue Grizzly was freaking great. When he was watching the bears and saying they were cute when the baby bear was sliding off papa.. I was like NOO don't kill them! lol. I can't wait for his schoolmates to see him come back with a pet lol. Also yeah first 2 eps were the generic setup ones of isekai, power, and training. Now we get into the real stuff! I love Rose.

NGL, I was half expecting the bunny to be the one who sliced up the bear family to stop protag-kun from trying to fight them.

Rose did say at one point that she just wanted him to gain experience from fighting something stronger than himself

This season is savage with the amount of good anime that rolled out. I was pretty certain he was going to forgo killing the bears, you don't play nature photographer see that family and then go end them. That damn snake though, got exactly what was coming to it!

Rose is a great Drill Instructor. Usato said everything that those that went through some sort of military training has said or something similar. if you don't hate your DI at the start of training, they aren't doing their job right. Can't wait to see what Usato will turn into after the training. It's time to bivouac and then get yeeted into the bush. love it.

You know the show is on a good path when the giant beasts are not ugly CGI.

It's not every day you see the mc of an isekai adopt a bear. Suddenly i feel the need to go back and finish Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear.

I thought she was talking about the bear when she didn't expect him to beat it and it took a lot to kill. Because that is what she sent him in there for. I completely misunderstood that then. This show is one of the hidden gems of this season I think.

This is the kind of series you don't really have expectations for, but which ends up changing your initial perspective. Completely. In the same way Usato gets to learn a totally wild way to use healing magic that is going to freak out his friends when they see what he's becoming. You gotta appreciate the consistency of the series, both in and out of the screen, as it leaves both its characters and its viewers just shocked at how good it is. I kinda noticed this before, but when an author gives a story a good title, 9 out of 10 you know you'll get a good story. Especially when they deliver on what they declared on said title. And it is correct, this series' title. That is definitely not the way you would use healing magic. Because both the training and the intended objective of said training are too extreme. Yes, Rose and her (unwilling) disciple, Usato, are now super humans, but how many have what it takes to even survive the basic workout of that training? Also, let's not forget that there is a Demon Army to fight. Sending Usato into battle, now that he's been turned into an absolute weapon will be... interesting, to say the least. This season's Friday is packed to the gills with good anime. And I could not be happier about that.

Best description I've heard about Usato is that Rose is turning him into Desmond Doss on Super Serum.

I also teared up and ttough don;t you dare bambi us. But its great that he took in baby bear and will be his friend and partner.

Thanks for recommending this, dude! I never would've found it otherwise. Great show so far, I love his dynamic with the big bald guy.

Damm so many badass waifus this season, Kyouka, Rishie and MOMMY ROSE. Also there's a really good Villainess anime airing this season called 7th time loop, highly recommend

This show is the embodiment of that RPG meme when the healer is dealing the most damage and has a picture of the incredibly buff priestess 😂

I also noticed the snake's growling. It doesn't sound like it's voiced by a VA like the other animals in this anime, it sounds very beast like and I find it very horrifyingly good.

The only thing bad I can say about this episode is that there wasn't more.

It really is an underrated show, I mean trying to sell the concept to a friend is hard, it would sound like any other isekai out there. But this one is really fun and well made. I will be here for the ride!

You should also give a chance to The Witch and the beast, Sasaki and peeps, Dr. Elise. This season has some many good animes.

This episode was pure isekai platinum for me 😳 The Bear family scene was so sad to watch 😭 Glad they managed to kill off this damn snake 😌 Usato has now lil' blue grizzly as his pet, those two will make a great duo, without a doubt 😤

Another great episode imho. I think there's been some bangers (really great episodes) coming out today. I enjoyed seeing Usato bond with the rabbit and bear, and I'm looking forward to their continued interactions in the coming episodes when they presumably will help in the fight against the demon lord's army on the front lines.

Sup brandon had to say this anime is something i wasn't expecting. Premise wise its starts pretty basic. We all the the familiar beats leading to a Isekai, MC talks about how boring he is, MC talks about how "specific" people(the student council president and vice president)are more interesting and would never give him the time of day etc. I honestly thought the MC was naturally going to get some busted magic affinity but its a magic everyone in the castle is scared of. Oh no its something dangerous like Dark Magic because the king shrugs that idea, not until he learns its healing magic. The intro is also something I don't really hate seems fine. Keep up the good work.

Sadly, I have to put watching anime on hold until I finish these damn exams... I can't take too many breaks to watch anime atm but hopefully after I finish them I'll be able to come back and catch up with everything I want to watch. Still will watch Solo Leveling tomorrow (most likely...) But mainly gonna focus on studying... That's probably why you won't be seeing me in your comments for a little bit (potentially for the next week or two)

So is this what would have happened if Iruma-kun's parents hadn't sold him to Sullivan? Really shocked at how good this show is so far. A bit of a Tsukimichi feel to it for me (and that has it's s2 going on now too!). MC and Rose are going to break a bed by the end of the season, aren't they?

I don't think he's stronger than an army. I believe Rose said, that "An Elite" would have struggled to beat that Snake, so maybe an elite soldier, or squad but probably not a whole army division

as soon as I've seen the baby bear I had a feeling that there is no way in hell he will kill that bear :D although I kinda hoped that he will befriend the white bear not the kid

IDK why, but I love all the "healer build" anime lol

I really love Inukami, the female class president "hero" that is SUPER stoked to be isekai'ed and apparently has a muscle fetish. I totally shop her and out MC: the two have an interesting chemistry and I think it would be a great break away from the trope of the student council Pres. and VP becoming a couple ... especially when it looks like the hero of light and the princess are starting to get a bit close as well. If that turns out to be the two main couples of this series, I would very much like that.

As a person who loves Unohana and Tsunade This manga and anime is everything If only Naruto had shown Tsunade's training sessions with Sakura a bit more, it could have been something like this We got snippets 😅 One thing tho, unlike Rose, Tsunade literally attacked Sakura with either the pretense of sparring or just plain DODGE 😂

I know you enjoyed it but for me it was quite tough to watch Goblin Slayer s2 on the same day as Frieren last year. But I have 0 issues watching this show and undead adventurer alongside Frieren, really enjoying them all. Friday is a busy day.
