The Wrasse Grand Slam | Attempt 1 | Sea fishing with a Float & Dropshotting | Stop off at Glencoe
The rugged northwest highlands of Scotland provide a spectacular backdrop to the intricate myriad of sea lochs, isles, sounds and machairs that, forged over millennia, make up the country’s west coast. This part of the country offers some of the most breathtaking scenery, arguably in the world, in which the visitor can truly immerse themselves, and the fishing isn’t too shabby either.
In this latest instalment of ‘Angling 360’ we travel into Lochaber and try our luck in the shadow of the imposing heights of Biden Nam Bian, Beinn a’ Bheithir and the infamous Anoach Eagach ridge, who’s steep sides give way to one of our favourite west coast sea lochs.
Such stunning surroundings demand some equally stunning fish, so there really is no better place to try our luck at a Wrasse Grand Slam. The challenge is simple: Catch all five species of Wrasse in one single session… Easy!

Inspirational lads, Mrs and I fished there late August last year, no baits, just a short session with the lures on our way back from Thunder in the Glens, we blanked! Will return for a day on the Wrasse after seeing your video.
Really enjoyable video, some of those wrasse are so colourful. Its great to watch a plan come to fruition.

@@angling360 Nah but I used to go to up to see relatives in Scotland and we'd often stay near the west coast near Oban and such. I've since got into fishing so it's great to see what you can catch up there in your videos!
My favourite place Gordon I have had my boat in there many times ye wrasse there in the rocks they eat all the limpets are muscles that's why they have the sharp grinding teeth ye rag worm and a we nip of squid to eep the worm on mate

Cracking video by the all rounders 👍What breaking strain do u use for mainline and hook length I’m going to have to give this rig a go Iv a lot to learn about sea fishing but this looks great 👊

The gear needs to be fairly strong, as you really need to bully the bigger fish. If you give them a second to get their head down, they'll smash you up in the weed and rocks. I was using 18lbs mainline in the video, but anything between 12 and 20 should do. I definitely wouldn't go any lighter.
