if people fake their deaths for views, why is it such a terrible thing? don't people regularly make 9/11 jokes online and 6000 people minimum died in hell fire that day? Why does it matter? Views get money, i rather lie online than be a whore and sell my body online. KZreadrs arent your friend, they don't care typically and this is just a career for the ones who do it and get paid. Entertainment is the goal, not realism.

Switzerland does not actually have privacy laws. Switzerland is used as a money laundering country do to its legality to well sell stollen data legally and ability to legally steal peoples money. Its a pirate style of government and that is why scumbags use it. Any time some tells you that Switzerland has privacy laws that protect people yea do not trust them at all because they are lying their ass off. Switzerland is the money laundering capital of the world. A Swiss bank is un effected by governmental laws which means that the government will not protect the use of any bank at all but at least the government can not steal your information except for they can and will. The reason people use Switzerland is because the money can not be taxed because the money is not protected at all. Switzerland is a money laundering country not a safe place at all.

Yeah, tbh, his reasonings are reasonable: wanting to get out of a community which is starting to tax him is something a lot of people want to do, but when your that big, it’s kinda hard. Wanting to go out with a bang also makes sense, alot of people want to do that, and have their acts remembered decades from there deaths. While faking death is a drastic turn, it’s also one that would give a clean slate: you can fully disconnect yourself from your last persona, and start fresh. Since really, if u say your just gonna leave, people are still going to harass irl and online for the past, especially if your a big shot, your just never going to get away from that. By disappearing with no trace, you can enjoy your time again, and move past the persona you put up on the internet, instead of being trapped by it.

I once moderated a popular combination flash game website/chatroom back in the day, it was pretty popular during the heyday of flash sites like Neopets and Newgrounds. I saw a lot of typical creeps and weirdos you'd expect to see in a chatroom mostly comprised of children, but by far the most memorable was this clown who was alt tabbing between two accounts pretending to be a husband and wife during a medical crisis where the wife "died" of complications during childbirth at home while the husband was at work. The "wife" would slip in and out of consciousness and cry in pain, all while having the strength and werewithal to type out things like verbal tics and asterisk roleplay. She'd say things like "I-I-I can't hold on anymore... *cough cough* my vi-vision is fa....fading...". The husband mostly just "shouted" by typing in all caps, begging her to hold on, screaming to please call 911 (while never crossing his mind to call them himself). He said he was urgently trying to get home as quickly as possible to say his goodbyes to his beloved wife. Apparently not so urgently that he'd bother logging off the chatroom, though. Now that would just be silly. This went on for an embarrassingly long time. She'd scream during a "contraction", he'd keep "shouting" at the wife to call 911, she insisted it was too late for her and their unborn child, and then they both typed out a tearful soliloquy about how much they loved each other and how heartbroken they were that the man would never meet his child. Remember, this was all going down in a kid's chatroom for browser games. I dunno what was worse: the fact that this bozo thought everyone would think their melodrama was actually happening for real, or that it never occurred to them how unhinged it would look for someone in a medical emergency to keep talking via chatroom, instead of calling them on the phone.

@Mythical4227 I'd argue that editing and uploading the video after him being dead and the (kinda) message at the end sort of imply he's not dead and that it was simply artistic expression. Also the fact the videos were uploaded days apart when they occured on the same night supposedly also imply it was a narrative. It even had a strong and hard hitting message that I honestly hope hit home with a lot of people leaving vile criticism in the comments section continuously.

It would help if you didn't switch from your script to the ad break on the same breath. It honestly sounds like this: "The fact that there was some activity on his Steam and KZread accounts gave people the impression that Sketchek was still alive let me introduce you to today's sponsor, Proton." While I appreciate that you're making condensed documentaries and put out your info without wasting your audience's time, some pauses between segments could help slower people like me understand you better. It took me a minute to realize that SAV and Sketchek are different people and you've already switched to the next story. It also felt weird to get an ad break right in the middle of a story, while you have five stories in this video.

it really shocks me how easily forgiven sketchek was, i can get wanting leave your gaming channel behind and wanting to move on to other things but that is no excuse to lie to your fans and make them think you were dead which i think is unforgivable.

Personally I wouldn’t ever forgive thanks to the confusing trauma he inflicted, but the most I can give him is that he didn’t do it for clout, but to gtfo. Trouble is, sort of like vtuber graduations, he had to do it in too Ultimate a way, and you can’t come back without hurting a lot of people. Speaking of vtubers he seems to be doing well anyways.

The BehindTheMeme situation was one of the dumbest things to ever come out of the internet. Here you have a guy who, by all intents and purposes, is just "explaining the joke" and everyone goes like he's literally satan or something. It was an idiotic mountain of elitism and gatekeeping that just didn't sit well with me. If you wanna gatekeep memes to someone, the guy explaining it to the "normies" is inoffensive compared to corpos trying to use them for advertising. There's some mobile game here on youtube whose ads are just the shittiest possible takes on popular macros

Out of all these, I remember Behind the Meme. One of my favorite channels at the time actually, since I was new to meme culture then and his explanations were so useful in understanding the memes I kept seeing. It's what helped me get into meme culture in the first place, since I understood the humor behind them now and wanted to make my own takes on them. So I found his channel valuable. It's too bad he decided to destroy the way he did.

I actually cried when the news came out but once the truth was revealed I couldn't believe someone would go that far over a permaban. It also pissed me off bc the nopixel community has lost amazing rpers, and he disrespected and just shat all over their deaths. Smh. I'm glad Ramee kept it 💯 and didn't amuse his behavior.

The only reason Amy should've known to keep the receipts is because and this is what I despise about people today, they would've obviously wanted proof because people want proof of everything, you say "I farted" they say "prove it" or you say "oh I woke up this morning, the sky was blue and then I went for a shower and used shampoo to wash my hair" and the person you say that to will be like "can you prove those things? I need to see proof" it's so annoying!!! What happened to good old fashioned hear say?

I honestly respect the decisions made by Sketchek for why he left his channel. Obviously, saying that he was dying was a poor decision in hindsight but if he really was having mental struggles and issues and was being genuine which his video seems to express pretty well that he is, I can support him and he should gain support. Mental health issues are so complex in and of itself but there's also so many different varieties of it that makes it so hard to treat, so really we should always be trying to help others with these issues. It takes a lot of guts to take a fall like that, admitting to doing such a bad publicity stunt for honestly a good reason in terms of personal gain that would actually help him in his mental health department and I think that's the part we should focus on.

Internet Anarchist - not everyone in this list is 'the worst'. Some were bullied and threatened relentlessly and probably didn't see another way to escape. Another found enjoyment and fulfilment having a life outside of the computer. It's like when a problem gambler tells the club in a moment of clarity to ban him forever. 'the worst' should be reserved for those who tried to profit. Not those who tried to escape.

@@thatoneannoyingtornadosire8755 I have family who work in the industry and a brother in law currently on track to be a piolet when he gets out of the army, if he gets out. Basically, when you become a pilot you have to have exceptional mental health. The last thing they want is a piolet crashing a plane on purpose or something. Fair enough. However, this means that when mental crisis do come up, if the piolet reports having bad thoughts, being depressed, etc, their job is essentially stripped away. They're no longer allowed to fly the plane. Meaning a loss of income if they're not given medical leave. So.. Much like with the fucking military.. No one reports when they're in trouble. Because it would cost them their job. So their mental health remains unchecked because getting help would fuck them over.
