@@user-hw9fr4fr6q The entire first half? You're talking about 1:00 where the girl is taking about colored people? Our president is a newly instated black president that was voted on by the school committee. This school has one of the most diverse colored populations with only 46.8% of the school actually being white.... There are actually more colored people at the school than white people if you can read that percentage correctly. And about the school deaths that seem to happen every semester. Its horrible that people die, but with 33,000 students and roughly 2 deaths per semester, thats only 0.0061% of the student population per semester and with that many students its probably not something that can be avoided 100% with every student aged 18-22 making their own choices on and off campus.

@@Jinouga502 Yes. It is great that we have diversity within the entire community. I am happy that people of my color are beginning to strive in positions like the new president. It's in a food desert, has horrible housing and landlords, and hate crime/rape is swept under the rug. Don't forget that it's so boring you have people getting hammered on a Tuesday at 5pm. Then there's the opaque student governance, predatory administration, an uninteresting student body, and venal approach to everything. Oh, and grad students can't collectively bargain. Undergrad culture was popping in the 80s-00s, but the STEMlords and business kids lamed up the campus pretty hard, and it became a neoliberal hellscape. The concert venues here died sort of like the kids from that black mold outbreak, so RIP. If you're a vanilla-ass person looking to join the rat race of getting DoD money, UMD is perfect for you. (Sort of different story if you're a grad though, the professors are some of the most gifted and talented people I've ever met, and being advised by them would be a blessing)

What a bunch of weak sauce people. UMD is an amazing school. Student complaining about cost?:) Try the private schools in DC, 3 times the tuition. Its public Ivy school. In engineering school, it is ranked really high, most profs graduated from MIT, what more do you want for the minor price you pay? Only negative in College Park is the crime at night. But, what university is doing a city wide improvement like College Park? The school has a University of Maryland College Park Hotel right across from campus, which school has that? Again, weak sauce students.
