Thanks 👍
The sound track is spot on too. I’m in a doctor’s waiting room and it’s chill time.

Wow nice job man. I know when you have a detailer’s type of OCD that it’s easy to just keep taking risks like on that spot of infinite funk you showcased there. Finding that balance of when to risk and when to call it good has been a skill that requires quite a bit of experience and honesty. Thanks for sharing that Kovax kit too, just what I was looking for! 👍

Good finishing combo

Thats my one step on my soft black paint and is the perfect combo after like 12 test sections and combinations. Perfect finish is glorious to work with and every polisher is gonna be its smoothest on a foam pad..hard work but very enjoyable combo.
Yikes man!! Awesome stuff!!

I really wanted to use a sander on those areas but the thickness readings were too inconsistent. It definitely took longer with my approach. I used a Mirka file on a couple test spots and exposed primer quickly.

@@nc.detail I m technician detailed from 3M and when I did this kind of job I have finished in 12 hours especially clear coat pants take care 👍
howdy from Canada !! so i have done the same process on a number of cars like this beauty . That weird bubbling situation would (from what i have encountered in the past ) is a bondo or fiberglass repair that when finished the body shop who did the work did not let the filler properly set and the resultant shrinkage inwards leaves a bubble or air gap between primer and body filler . This gap slowly expands outwards as the rust they tried to repair grows underneath. SIngle stage paint does the same thing except the paint just flakes off in a pitiful shower of sadness. Clear coat being flexible for longer than one expects grows but does not flake until the "bubble "bursts. I had one let go on a mid 80's Jag door just under the handle and it took a 5x5" square of paint off with it revealing a shoddy bondo at home special..

Wow did they wash this car with sand or a Brillo pad? Turned out great with some TLC 😊 Turned out great.

@@nc.detail yea but you did a awesome job on it. I hope your customertook care of the bubbling in the paint . The car still turned out great. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and work on these videos.
Hello so I I just understand that the Kovax system you’re using is a dry sanding with the pre cuts. Would it be ineffective if I were to implement wet sanding with the Sam Kovax kit? Thank you in advance.
@nc.detail
Ай бұрын
Dry sanding is better to track progress where there is less residue as compared to headlights. Wet sanding would be fine, it’s a preference aspect.

Did you paint the gladiator cabinets white? Noticed you had black ones before. If you painted, can you share the paint you used and your experience?

Why not just work on your car? A DA and soft pads/compounds are a easy starting point
Hi from the UK, what did you use on the rubber seals around the doors?
@nc.detail
Ай бұрын
M100 but any cutting compound will work fine. Thanks
Do you think this could have all been done without the rotary and only the DA? If so, how much more time do you think it would have taken you?
@nc.detail
Ай бұрын
It’s not just the cutting efficiency as the rotary can do edge work and curved panels easier than a DA. Plus the reduced vibrations make it more pleasant to use for longer.
@patrickko355

@@nc.detail How thick does the paint have to be for you to consider using the Rotary vs DA?
@nc.detail
Ай бұрын
Thickness isn’t important unless there has been work done which is pretty infrequent for the cars I see. Mostly paint condition and which vehicle determines if I use rotary or not.
have you used the Milwaukee m18 da yet?
@nc.detail
2 ай бұрын
I haven’t. I got the mil rotary around Xmas and more recently the rupes.
Also who painted the car ? Stevie Wonder ? More runs than 50c taco night in Tijuana..
