I love bf vietnam, I used to play it all the time when my dad was away fighting in iraq. I wish ea would revisit vietnam again.

I love this map, but I mostly played it alone or with few friends coop against the bots, totally understand the frustration it might create against full team of human opponents when playing the viet cong side.

I have never played on that map with more than 24 simultaneous players and it is sometimes complicated for me, I have had to improve my aim with RPG 7 and it bothers me a lot that the game does not detect the hits that I give to them, I am quite well, but I lose the desire to play when I see how 4 shots I give a helicopter don't make it explode or leave it smoking... smoke just appears and it doesn't do anything at all...

Oh man. That goes without saying. That was definitely a good time. The problem was without the airfield you would have no way to resupply.

Wish i played this one. Best i could do is vietnam dlc in bc2 lol

You can still do it, although there are people playing mostly on weekend evenings.

But gotta give the map high points for immersion and historical realism.

This is definitely true. Both 1942 and Vietnam tried their best to have authentic level designs with varying degrees of success.

@@GravityBFTV Well, yeah, authentic to history map designs sadly very rarely translate to good playability of said maps so normally map designers make a lot of compromises and interpretative design decision.

@@diamondhamster4320 There are actually a few examples over a few games where it actually worked well. A lot of the time the failure comes from engine limitations though.

2142 maps are very difficult due to the extreme difficulty i have with getting footage, or with an appropriate server size. When I did Verdun it was mostly based on Memory and backed up by some lucky gameplay to confirm it. There might be a chance I do another down the road, but i wouldnt expect it for a long time. BF2 Special forces, however, I would definitely expect to cover soon. In fact I had every intention on doing one of the night maps from it for a mid tier map. The problem is those things are DARK. Like, Pitch Black. Especially in free cam. So while I want to do one, i need to figure it out first.

I had a ton of fun on that map?

Nothing wrong with that. There is fun to be had on every map. Its just a matter of design.

Never played this game. My first was Bad Company. Still gonna watch till the end 🙂
