This is me for 2024. I’m giving myself 4 times to purchase something this year- and it should be a skincare item but regarding makeup i should be good 😊

I am always on the lookout for pink toned items that suit my ultra cool toned fair skin.

I don’t buy luxury makeup so I’ve usually never even heard of the products you’re roasting in these, but your commentary is such delightfully gentle snark that I love these videos. 😆 You are just wonderful.

Thank you for not using a ring light and exposing your more real face. I prefer that over any filters and lights to make skin look flawless. You’re my age so it makes me feel better and not as self conscious knowing that having texture in our facial skin is normal and ok. ❤ thank you for being real

I hated the Rare Beaty lip oils too. I found it to stain unevenly which is obviously an absolute nightmare. Fun video!

I hate lip products that make me feel like I got product on my lips if that makes sense. Especially sticky lipgloss. Hate it

During this video I realized that other than mascaras I haven’t purchased any new makeup products this year except one eyeshadow palette from SG. I was cutting back due to skin cancer surgeries but wow. Thanks for sharing about the bad products. Your opinions are valuable and no one else can make a bad review so entertaining!❤

I have to admit I HATE paying a luxury price for makeup and end up being disappointed. After purchasing the Natasha Denona palette you just featured, I was so disappointed (I am a blonde blue eyed girl this color story is good on). but since that purchase I now KZread any spendy product I am interested in. I have a few trusted content creators I enjoy and trust their opinion and I listen to reviews before I run out and buy the newest thing. So thank you for doing the leg work and not to mention the money waisted, so I do not have to, really a sincere thanks.

You're not the only one who got taken by those Rare Beauty lip tints. And I'm going to put ALL of the blame on the company. They had to have tested them prior to release yet somehow someone thought calling them a lip tint was a good idea 🤔 Yeah, NO, lol. I'm glad we can return products here. I'd be pissed if I paid that kind of money for high-end makeup (even mid to drugstore. That stuff adds up) that I couldn't use. I know many complain about the environment due to returns and yes, ofc it has an impact but then again so does pretty much everything else one buys. I'd rather get my money back then to be stuck with a product that's rotting away in a drawer that will eventually get tossed into the trash anyhow. Loved the video Charlotte. Love your videos! 💖 I wanted to mention something about the Hermes highlighter: last time when I went to the boutique they told me that it wasn’t a highlighter but it’s an illuminating powder that you should put all over your face 😅 and actually it looks great like this! They used it like Guerlain meteorites as a finishing powder on me and that had been looking pretty 🤩

Looking at it on the Selfridges site, there does seem to be some confusion, as if they might have changed the name - at the top and in the product details they call it the iridescent mineral powder and say it’s refillable and should be applied with a powder brush, but then lower in the product details they say the highlighter refills will be available shortly.

Not Ross with the leather pants and that scene gets me every time 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I love the Rare Beauty Lip oils, but had bought them thinking they were a hit of glossy pigment with a stain. I usually hate lip stains, but these are fab, especially as I have darkish lips & the colours are just superb, just a great work lip for me!

Have to say I love the Chanel No.1 Red Camellia Skin Enhancer in Soft Pink. I use it daily. Just love the effect and no foundation needed. I just add a bit of concealer as and where it’s needed. In fact I love it so much I have bought another bottle as about to finish the current one. It’s quite ok to agree to disagree - makeup is personal and we’re all different with different skin tones and skin types. It would be pretty dull if we all loved or loathed the same things! Charlotte, you should try to use that Westman attellier sticky highlighter as a luminaiser underneath your foundation, for sort of strobing effect on highlighted areas, you may also use as a “primer” if you do have to wear matte foundation.

Ah, so pleased to see your verdict on the Saie Foundation - I have purchased 3 neutral shades, and they all lean so peachy I am about to give up. Also found that it didnt last me a complete 8 hour workday without fading to almost nothing during the day. I really really wanted to love this, but as I have used it side by side on the face with my other glowy/dewy foundations (BPerfect Chroma, Tarte Maracuja Juicy Glow, Shiseido Skin Glow and some of my Korean brand cushions) I find it to fall through, both in finish and longevity. Thank you for giving me the kick to kick it out of my life :-)

I agree with all of your picks, except Pärla. It *does* have a bit of stickiness, but used lightly on my super-dry, mature skin the stuff is a dream. It also works well with her other products. I find it works really well with her foundation stick, which has a bit of dryness about it.

I enjoyed the ND Love palette so much I bought a backup when it was half off. What I have found with most makeup is it is all about timing/seasons. What works well in the summer doesn’t work in winter, etc. once I figure out WHEN to wear something usually I enjoy it! 😀

Parla is my favorite shade of the Westman Atelier lit up highlight stick! Admittedly, I typically only wear tinted mineral sunscreen on a daily basis rather than foundation and find that I can tap this on with my fingertip easily and without problems.

You always make us have a better day listening to you! And so glad to say I did not buy any of these products!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love the Rare Beauty lip oils, but because, as you say, they're really just very hydrating, glossy, lip stains. I feel like I always get a great look that lasts all day, even through lunch. Just need to add a little gloss after lunch and looks as good as new. Great bang for the buck, and the colors are beautiful. They blend with your own lip color. They go on one color, but then settle to look so natural a stain. I don't have any other lip oils, but good to know I can't expect this of the others.

The lipoils are just plain Korean gel oil stains like A'pieu Juicy Pang glossy stains. There's dozens of similar lip products out there, for better prices

I can’t stand lip products that taste sweet. Anything sticky or sweet I just don’t like. Like the Mac powder kiss lipsticks are sweet to taste and I didn’t know when I bought 3 of them… waste of money.

I would definitely tune-in for a Charlotte epic seasonal fail/chat/adventure .. I think the ski-trip story was my favourite, the thoughts of Charlotte clawing her way to safety .. whilst obviously horrendous and scary .. the way she told it just made me laugh-out-loud and made my week!! Happy Holidays! Gotta say I love the YSL Nu Highlighter! I’m pretty fair and on the drier side but old and have some texture. I was able to use it without it being pasty. I do use a light layer of foundation. But no issues. My worst product was the Saie foundation. Gross messy disaster! Love the videos. I totally agree with you on the Love palette. I didn’t buy it…but you really need to, so I understand why you did. However it IS very hard to not like everything that Natasha Denona makes! I too love the Glam face and eye palettes, the Yucca, Dream, I need a Nude and Xenon palettes…… but the Love palette colour story just wasn’t me! I just didn’t buy any product that I hated, really ( thanks to you!) but I didn’t find myself using the Bobbi Brown green palette ( I can’t remember the name) or the Master Metals palette since the Yucca palette was released

ND eyeshadow pallets I have them all (almost hearing in the background the song of Pokémon “gotta catch them all” 😂😂😂😂 I have kids 😂😂 I didn’t purchase any of the big face pallets but did buy the trio from My Dream Palette! There are a lot of them that I didn’t pick up and recently I went through all I own and got so overwhelmed that I actually own so much that some of them had to go in the bin. 2024 is going to be a better year for me ❤

I like the Rare Beauty lippies as lip tints and nothing else 😅 Totally agree about the Dior Forever liquid etc etc. They can’t compare to the Chanel Dual etc etc. I just wish Chanel released more natural/neutral shades… I don’t remember if it launched this year, but the Benefit Fan Fest and Badgal Bang waterproof, both mascaras flake on me like crazy 😢

Hallo Charlotte, yep no thank you for Saie ( not into clean beauty with free bacteria) no for merit and tower 28 too. Le Mer no overpriced especially when you see the ingredients and awful packaging, I agree with Marlena Stell about this brand.

That YSL highlighter is my favorite liquid highlight. I don't have any issues with the formula, in fact what I love is it actually sets and does not budge. The shade is perfect for my fair cool skin which when most highlights are too dark and golden/champagne, it's just perfect. But we have totally different skin tones 😊

Oh dear I’m not even sure if I can … actually, yes, yes I can. Danessa Myricks Color Fix Eye, Cheek and Lip Cream Pigment. That was the absolute biggest fail. I was influenced to buy it and it was terrible for me! The influencer used it as an eyelid primer and mine are red and similar to hers. It was awful. I was so disappointed. I’ve had to be really honest with myself and recognize that while she is an amazing KZreadr and I really enjoy HER, nothing she loves are loves for me. 😢 Also anything by Huda Beauty. I went wholeheartedly into the 1 Coat Wow mascara after watching another influencer. 😮 I think I even asked you about it, Charlotte! Anyway, I was so convinced it was going to be holy grail status that I rushed to buy it. 😳 It was a disaster. I have not had luck with anything I buy from that brand-especially mascaras. 😢 Saie and Westman Atelier also seem to be brands I need to stay away from. I had the same experience with the Lit Up formula. Saie was a horrifying mess. I’m avoiding them. I do still have my contour stick from WA and I don’t think I’ve used it enough to have an opinion yet. So I’ll work with it. And Charlotte Tilbury. I want to be a devotee!! I’ve bought at least $1000 worth of products but everything turns orange on me!!! I do love the Beautiful Skin foundation and concealer. Both are top 3. But nothing else. Pillow Talk is such a beautiful color-until it gets on my eyes or lips. 😭 I deeply appreciate your reviews Charlotte. I need to hear from someone who clearly states the negative experiences they have. That’s one thing I’m really grateful for. I declutter almost my entire collection last weekend and I’m in tears at how much money is in that huge box. It’s wasteful, it hurts my mental health, and it’s a financial nightmare. One of my intentions this next year is to remind myself and live by “We do not put makeup on Klarna!” 😂❤

It's made in Korea because it is a Korean gel oil lip stain 😅they bought an existing formula from a Korean lab

untill you have now said I thought the light nd face pallet came out last year for some reason if I'm not really interested in something I can't keep track I'm 55 so there's no shock there it's to be expected xx

Have you tried the ysl highlighter under your makeup?

I had the same issue with the Saie foundation! I thought it really emphasized texture on my skin.

I didn’t get on with the Saie skin tint. It always sat on top of my skin and looked patchy. I’m still on the hunt for a mascara that adds volume but doesn’t transfer or make my eyes sting at the end of the day

Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up (package of 3) & shaving upper lip: amazing results. 30 seconds 2x a week. Done.

Those Tilbury duos remind me of the Wayne Gods duos. He has a great formula and larger range of colors.

I'm also an advocate of dermaplaning (shaving face) and you don't have to maintain it once you start if you get lazy for a bit. Everything will sit better and look fantastic if you do, plus it takes off dead skin cells along with the peach fuzz. Products I am hating this year - the WA Vital Skincare Dewy Drops. I am still trying to find a way to make them work without powdering myself to death, but dare I say there are too many oils in this. I just end up SO SHINY and I have normal skin and I love a light coverage, dewy foundation. I just don't know who this works well on apart from dry skin folks. Also, the Makeup by Mario Moistureglow Lip Serum things. Awful doesn't cover it. The menthol in it is just unnecessary and odd and it doesn't add any plumping value. The formula is way too soft and smushy. I didn't even bother to try to give the ones I bought away. Just seemed cruel and unusual punishment to subject someone to them. I don't know if I ever have such strong feelings about a product - but I HATE these so, so much.

I agree they needed 3 options of blush/glow. Charlotte Tilbury so rarely makes a med/dark palette that actually works on dark skin hopefully next time it’s 3 palettes but I worry I notice the bronzer in the darkest Hourglass palette is slightly lighter this year. Medium toned people going for the darkest palette then saying they are too dark will put pressure on brands to make them lighter which edges out dark toned people yet again. Maybe I’m worrying unnecessarily.

I think that these big/succesful brands should offer palettes for the lightest to darkest skin tones. Why not? If a brand like Sidney Grace is able to offer 2 eyeshadow palettes with the same colour story, a light one and a deep one, why are these other brands not even doing it right for face palettes? I don't understand...

The rare beauty eyeliner. It literally would not put even a tiny bit of pigment in my upper water line. It was baffling. I even tried warming it up on the back of my hand and-nothing.

I remember it from years ago. I bought it and it ended up in the back of the drawer. It just didn't do anything for me.

I decluttered my Natasha face glam. It was like I woke up one day and went “nope overrated and taking up space” and I gave it to my niece. I think it was the flakey gold- it always left residue and the staying power was dismal compared to her other formulas

I can absolutely see your reasoning for all these products, for me there were oly a few products i tried this year that iether were bad for one reason or another or just did not suit me :caked on it This first product is the only one that i feel that the combination of the formula and the applicator brush made this a bad product- the lys mascara was so thick and caked so thickly on the brush applicator that it was unuseable for me even after even wiping off the brush completely upon first opening and putting it back in the tube to see if it would then come out out less caked on the brush it continued to cake up on the brush over and over This next product i feel is a good product for what it is suposed to be but the first shade i chose that was suposed to be my shade wasbad for me - the light shade of the makeup by mario skin enhancer was very orange on my fair skintone - the light medium shade was a better undertone for me but if the product were any more pigmented than it is the shade would be to dark for me

Saie foundation was a hot mess on my dry skin too. Used once and has never seen the light of day since lol horrendous!!!!

Totally in sink with your disliked makeup. To me, this year, I was hoping the foundation from Prada would be my holly grail but I hate the smell. I use it still, but I don't like it. Also trind lots of mascaras and I only love but love the one from Chantecaille.

I swear by the Chantecelle (the one with the lash grow products in it) it’s really helpful with my lash regrowth & it’s very easy to remove! I love your special sense of humour. Try donating to a women’s chelter

I love the love face and eye palette from natasha denona❤, the blush looks beautifull on my skin tone, i think its a blush that suits better in light skins. The eyeshadows works beautifully for me and also i think its very versatil. I dont understand why so many people deslike it, i love the review from patty alonso❤, but anyway thanks for your reviews allwais helpfull❤

OMG the Selena Gomez lip oil. I hate them so much. They're in the corner of my room, I can't look at them. I think that's what happens when you try and do too many things at once. It should either be an oil, a stain or a gloss.

My most hated product is Dior's ÉCRIN COUTURE ICONIC Holiday Palette. The shades are so muddy and they don't last on my lids. So sad!

I got Dior liquid lip mine doesn’t smell as sticky though maybe I just got lucky with the shade?!?!

I respect your opinion but i love the rare beauty lip oil/stain😅 maybe you got the darker color? I got joy/peach/orange and i love it. Infact im sad it doesnt stay for more than a couple of hours on me. Maybe i eat my lipticks. 😊 and thats why I appreciate the stain which will last on me for a little longer than 5 minutes🫣

i think my makeup fail is when I can't get a foundation shade match, I've noticed when the shade match is perfect it just looks right, x

Hi dear Charlotte this was so funny again, but do not lay in a dark corner rock 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣we love your salty opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not crazy about some WA highlighters for the same reason. Chanel: i hope they can ever leave out fragrance when making complexion stuff there. Disappointing for me? The CT eyeshadow palette, the 9 pan one, from this autumn; i keep it for the mattes as they are so, so good! But the shimmer/sparkle shades, i think i'm to much used to my Suqqu etc stuff now with my sensitive eyes, the sparkle's/shimmers/glitters were to big and really hit my eyes, they really hurted. And using glitter glue, i'm over it. I'm not that much attracted anymore to the CT brand, i must say, as from Suqqu, despite living in The Netherlands from where it can be hard to get, i never miss an eyeshadow launch from them, unless i really don't like the colours. Further: really biggest fail of the year: the Hermes 100 euro powder bronzer, i have light skintone with cooler undertones, and shade 1 is literally orange. I hope they go back to school there to learn shades/undertones and after that come back with more shades, cause that formula is.....the best i tried. That was it, from me than. Ohh that Hermes highlighter, i get it, Charlotte, with your gorgeous medium complexion! I love it, but other skintone/undertone here, and did not use the white colour in that highlighter yet. For me, the biggest disappointments were the Huda and Dior lip tints (turns out I’m allergic) and the Merit cream shadows. The shadows were sheer, not buildable and would just blend away.

Haus labs foundation was horrible. After a few hours of wear it looked atrocious on me and separated.

I love the “lip oils”, but I agree it isn’t a lip oil.

I've only tried a rare beauty tinted lip oil and staining was fine for me, except it was quite uneven, but most of all I hated the taste of it, awful

I didn't like the Summer Fridays lip balm. I thought it would be amazing based on the hype but it dries my lips out, the scent and the color = meh. And the other one that really disappointed me is the Haus Labs foundation. I don't hate it. But I keep trying to love it and I think it makes my skin look more textured? Like it has a grainy finish and just looks so heavy and makeup-y. I was hoping I'd love it but I don't. I keep trying it hoping to find a way to make it work.

There are great products by mineral fusion or by Elate Cosmetics and they don't last long enough for me because my stash is so big that I keep my makeup for longer than these "eco" products will last. With mineral fusion I bought and used up a mascara right away and it was a good mascara. Also, I've heard negative reviews abou Kosas products and I have never bought that brand.
