This! I've honestly had this problem on my mind for weeks now. Why is it that innocent idols face worse consequences than ones who have actually committed crimes? Is there something more appealing to the public about hating someone over rumours than hating someone over facts? I almost feel as if they find it a lot more romantic to hate someone over unconfirmed (and debunked) rumours because....oooh, think of the possibilities, the scenarios they could imagine. I've been a VIP since childhood. I never liked Seungri. He always gave me bad vibes, I remember being scolded by fellow people in the fandom when I revealed that back in the day. My intuition didn't fail me. The people still supporting him are not real VIPs, because if they were theyd realize he completely destroyed the legacy and reputations of the other 4 members. I met Taeyang in person before, he is super kind hearted and an actual sweetheart. I feel so sorry for him and the others. Really heartbroken T.O.P left the group because he actually made an impact (unlike Seungri) the group wont be the same without him. I could tell from their first music video, their debut, that @KM-gs2vr had mentioned that he wasn't bringing anything to the group at all, just an extra; every music video felt like that. He was up to no good, but I'm not sure to what extent back then until the incident. He was just greedy. Even his solos were cringed. His greed led him to this. And apparently, it's not enough since he will try to do the same thing again, but in another county. Whether the people close to him knew or not, let him do it and/or don't want to get involved because they knew the repercussions. I'm sorry for that long rant, but to try to answer that question, maybe not at first, but he wanted more. To become an artist wasn't enough for him. Greed is power to him. Let's say he did start his own club and not do the things that were mentioned. Would he have gotten far? Under Big Bang name, probably. But under his own name, he won't. He did it because he had nothing to lose. But let's say if GD started his own club under his own name, he has everything to lose. There's a lot going on with this, and it's sad to see it went down like that because he could have changed and done good. The scandal and reputation may not have started with him when it came to light, but it ended with him in full circle.

As a hardcore Bigbang fan, this has always made me sad because Seungri had so much potential and success and he justthrew it all away by doing something very stupid. That being said I just really hope he turns his life around for the better and keep God in his faith

OMG good that you brought up this Japan scandal! I remember it clearly and it all got back to me as soon as i heard first time about burning sun. I remember that scandal and actually internet was not accusing that much him of a bad behaviur but internet (especially tumblr) had number of memes with Seungri throwing a towel. Because in this article there was a quotation from this woman that "after everything he would not even give her a towel to clean herself" .... Pretty much this is how internet looked at it. With a bunch of memes.

Yeah, I remember that article…and I remember me thinking “well, it’s his life and privacy, he is just a freak freak huh” but honestly, most of VIPs ( me included) didn’t pay too much attention regarding that scandal, they were even saying that the guy on the picture wasn’t seungri, they did all kind of face recognition and all 😭 damn I remember those time. We VIPS been having something against this man, most of us never knew what it was coz we couldn’t put a finger on but we had have a bad feeling or feel some type of way with Seungri.

And there were all kind of speculations, as you stated, in favour of Seungri so it was easy to let it slide. But at the same time it was hard to forget about that.

why not the only thing he maybe did were gambling and tax evasion you should try official sources and less problematic channels its facts that he was never in jjys chat and he was never the owner of the club nor was he ever accused of something involving victims.

When we are talking about the history of BIGBANG you can't really dodge Seungri and as a fandom we will never forgive him for what he did to BIGBANG's image. I am ashamed to admit that I did defend him originally when the accusations came out. The first BIGBANG song I ever listen to as a kid was Bae Bae and Seungri's solo at the end was my favorite part even though I didn't even know who the members were apart from G-Dragon. I will not defend Seungri in anyway, he was deplorable and the reason why BIGBANG is basically dead was because of him. No matter how much I hate him, I have come to accept that he will forever be apart of BIGBANG's history and their music despite the scandal.

Wow, Seungri really sucks. But a key-note here is that Big Bang's relationship with Seungri already wasn't the best when the scandal happened. The other members were still pretty close to each other, but Seungri had visibly drifted apart from them, and they were just colleagues who never hung out together outside of shared schedules. There were no public statements by the members, simply because all of them were enlisted at the time. T.O.P. made like one Insta post shading him - didn't need more tbh, he'd already said on variety that he didn't like Seungri's friends and the events were just proving him right. Post scandal, Daesung basically doesn't mention Seungri at all - in a recent video about Bigbang, he essentially said that Bigbang is him, Taeyang and GD, and that TOP is a former member, but entirely avoided mentioning Seungri. The two were also. Visibly not on great terms even before burning sun (there's a concert of Daesung's where Seungri crashes the stage and you can visibly sense that Daesung is upset - it's such an odd vibe). And TOP, considering how much of a ghoul Seungri was about what happened in 2017. The Bigbang members had to end their enlistment in shame and hide away for YEARS (with 3 of them posting on insta and Daesung being MIA before his KZread account was discovered!!!!) because of Seungri being such a terrible person. And he still has no shame, and is partying it up in SEA with his friends and fans??? That he still has????? Fuck him

I discovered K-POP back in like, 2011 but I really became a K-POP stan thanks to 2NE1 and BIGBANG in 2013. Lemme just say this: FOURever! May Seungri rot in hell!

In High & Low The Movie (2016), Seungri plays as the syndicate boss, who would've thought he really liked that role so much...

I was a big big fan of big bang and I always said to myself that seungri Was unnecessary to the group. For me I always saw him as a member who didn’t bring much to the group and mind you that back then while I was thinking that I kind of felt bad for him because I thought he was one of those members from a group who never receives that much love as the other. (As we seen with other groups where members who are not monsters like seungri, not receiving much attention or love like the other group members) but I also remember when at the beginning the was somewhere I don’t know if it was in bigbabg tv or another show but they found in a closet I think some cds or movies I can’t remember but they found it and discovered that it was porn and said he liked that stuff kind of addictive to it and that set me off I began to have a strange feeling about him that he was weird. I think if I’m correct I few time that topic was touch and all he did was laugh and people around him as well probably because they didn’t think he was such a horrible pervert and persone. Plus I also remember that t.o.p, Gd and tae Yang had to kind of force seungri and daesung to hang out and eat together because in the group they barely hanged out. To me I think Daesung had a bad feeling about him that’s why. Overall when you think about everything, of how of an attention seeker he always was making us think it was because he unfairly was not receiving the attention he wanted and he’s weird way of being throughout the years makes soooo much sense now.

Why are you not asking the hard questions, instead of harping on Seungri and “ his associates. In economics the market works on supply and demand, if the demand is not there, there is no need to supply. But, that aside who where the people that where demanding “ parties and all of the illegal, gambling,female abuse and drug abuse “ - it’s not something your average Korean male could afford. So the hard question is who were the these high paying customers; politicians, chaebols, and rich businessmen both Korean and foreigners? Why are they not answering for there crimes, because, if it is illegal to supply then surely it is illegal to consume the said services. I am not condemning what has happened but I would really like to know why only the famous are being witch hunted. Hypothetically, I would certainly not want a politician making political decisions about women’s issues if I knew that they had been receiving service from BurningSun or assisted in covering for anyone they know who did. So please instead of dwelling on what we know, please investigate deeper than the surface water.
