you can narrow it down to memorizing what specific weapons have Splashdown as their Special, then check if their icon or head (flaming head) are indicating Special meter, THEN watch out for the Splashdown startup sound effect when in range to cancel it on cue. practice and repeat until it becomes second nature, (just like how i booyah back or help charge boohay bomb immediately with left stick press). it's similar to shooting at Drizzler rain bombs when you hear them launch it, or spotting a Maws creeping by

The explosher is a amazing weapon unless it’s grates or up close in which you better pray or have hit the skill roof. Also some cramped maps are just trash for it because you got no spot to stand without being too close or too far away.

Grates are deceptively good for it, you have to just direct a slow target twice. It's not like Blob that loses all of its range on grates.

5:10 I'd love to see a video where you talk about what changes you'd make to certain main weapons like Dynamo and Range to make them good. Balance changes are one of my favorite topics when it comes to competitive games.

I'm just trying to use the washing machine,any good tips on how to get better at using it? It's the only weapon so far where I am somehow able to hit people directly by randomly shooting.

trizooka has around 65-70 frames of end lag and is nothing like the OG zooka. the shots may bet bigger, but its more of an all or nothing type special rather than a panic button like in S1. also, you look at the trailer, the gouge was going down slowly, and the trizooka only gets 3 shots, meaning time between shots will be long, at least a second or more. still, that's a nice change from S1's busted zooka that traveled at lightning speed and, due to lag, would hit you from behind walls often.

tbh most pro splatoon players don't squid flop, but I'm ok with it since I do it all the time. Once I got a 360, but a junior stole my kill. I like to squid flop with inkjet and sting ray. I am on X in only splat zones and I'm on level 74. btw great video.
