The Worst Aged Comic in History

In 2011, DC printed a line of comic books combining The Justice League with Subway Sandwiches. Little did they know, it would feature their most diabolical villain of all time.

The way the colors in that last comic are really muted? The sheer amount of distrust on Supes face? The fact that they're facing down a "robotic cop" villain? The way the dialogue is, at least, rushed, at times? The way it doesn't do campy fun nonsense? It really feels like the artists knew, and must have been disgusted at creating this. So for anyone who’s ever wondered, no Jared did not lose all his weight just by eating at Subway. My family owned a subway while I was growing up and my dad met the man when he was first brought on as the mascot. Long story short he did eat better at subway, i.e. no footlongs, chips, cookies or soda. The thing subway never said in the advertising was that Jared jogged 6 miles to and from the store every day. So yeah that’s how he actually lost that weight. Also according to my dad when he shook his hand it was a really frail and weak handshake. He described it like he was shaking a kid’s hand. Go figure.

There's nothing healthy about white "bread", "cheese product", pesticide covered GMO veggies, factory farmed meat, and large high fructose corn syrup teas. Honestly given fast food prices nowadays I bet I'm not even spending much more for organic and mostly local products that I have to make into meals than he does for fast food subs.

Jared claims that his total daily calorie intake was 2,000 calories. Pair that with 12 miles of walking or jogging, which would burn somewhere between 1,400 and 2,000 calories, and you're looking at a daily calorie deficit of between 1,200 and 1,500 calories. That includes being safe from beatings, robbery and (oh, yes) sexual assault (which is no funnier in prison than it is at church or at school). Or as Oscar Wilde put it, "If this is how Her Majesty treats her prisoners, she shouldn't be allowed to have any." No, this isn't in the slightest any kind of "sympathy" for Jared as an individual. Get that notion out of your head. It's a recognition that he was sentenced to prison, not to being beaten.

His "long walks" were supposedly him walking to the subway they transferred her to until she eventually quit. Since he skipped like two Subways on the way to the one she worked at. Other rumors of him being creepy towards kids were popping up at the time. Subway was trying to bury it by flooding his name around the net to make it harder to search for these stories. The part where Grundy wants batman to bring him green lantern is actually surprisingly on point for the lore. In the original appearance of Grundy he tosses GL off a bridge and upon seeing the green light cushion lanterns fall, he believes that killing makes the green light, he’s also immune to the rings powers because his body is made of wood

i love the voice acting huggbees does for these characters. it's amazing that giving this dialogue from a 2011 comic line about Subway® stereotypical 1940s/1960s voices doesn't juxtapose the dialogue at all i also love how carl edwards' uniform's sponsor logos aren't warped at all, like DC either was too lazy to do so or didn't want to run the possibility of ruining the clear view of the logos (y'know, as stipulated by their licensing agreements)

I don't think Aquaman is lame, because I didn't watch Superfriends. But I did read JLA, where Darkseid showed up on the Watchtower, and Martian Manhunter chucked him out towards Earth. He landed in the ocean, of course, and Aquaman picked up on it and instantly sprung into action, instructing three sharks to, very simply, "Make. Him. Bleed." So no, I don't laugh at Aquaman. That issue earned him my respect.
