I wish Casio would add all this watch features to their latest GBD H 2000. I bought it recently and it's pretty perfect to me. I just miss the features this GSW 1000 offers. Maybe they will add this all in the future.

Absolutely awesome but a little outdated now. Will certainly be waiting for the next generation of these as they are also only currently available for sale in Japan!

I love g shocks, but I'm stuck between a G-shock Move enabled watch and amazfit trex 2. Tough choice especially for around 200

I can’t lie - smart watches have never really been my thing. But I agree, this model does look cool. I wonder what you think of the 40th anniversary models, any chance we will see a video on it soon? I think the magma design is really cool. Great video as always 😊

Good lord that's an obnoxiously thick watch. Giant snag hazard.

i am a Gshock lover, but best thing about gshock is that it gives you battery life of 2 years approx and with adding features of smart watches, it will never be able to cope up on battery aspect. only thing they can do is keeping and extra battery like most analog and digital watch of gshock has and keeping smart function and watch function seperate in watch.

I LOVE having a smart watch that i know will endure really really rough play! The battery will last two days with simple fit tracking and heart monitoring. GPS will shorten battery life to 12-18 hours. Just make sure to manage the settings and Wi-Fi connections. Toughest smart watch in the world. IMHO.

I had it but had few problems back and forward to shop hope gshock do bring out better and bigger tougher watch

I really like this watch but the fact of the price and lack of solar makes me wait and see. I wear a garmin instinct solar 2 and it does everything I want, It would be nice to have a tft screen and touch though. I've always been a watch geek since I was a child. I'd love a proper tuna but at the end of the day, it just tells the time. A smart watch is so much more. How well does this work with an Iphone?

It’s a shame this model didn’t work out. I have been waiting for a G-Shock smartwatch. I guess it was more of a consumer prototype. I’m hoping they expand upon this design and compete with the Garmin Instinct tactical solar and Apple Watch Ultra.

Come on give them a break. It aint gonna happen. At this point nothing can compete with Apple Watch Ultra. At the very least , G-Shock will need a billion dollar to design and fabricate something similar to S8 Chip in apple watch ultra. So if you want Apple Watch Ultra in your GShock , go get the Apple watch and f""K off.

The only reason i hate smartwatches is that I don't want to add one more thing on my list to charge everyday. Tough Solar Gshocks are dearest to me forever

During the timepiece mode is on, is the step is counter is sync with the google health? Or we need to do something more to sync the step counter between timepiece mode and google health?

Found this on sale, will try it out and see how i like it.

When they finally upgrade this with the HybridOS-dual-Processor and MIP+TransparentOLED displays. It will be a game changer all over again. ♥

The reason sapphire xrystal isn't always used is that it is more likely to shatter if it does break. It is the same reason mineral glass is used in dive watches. It will chip and scratch, but it will rarely have catastrophic failure.

I'm all for casio smart watches but this one feels like a miss. What Casio needs to do is make a small smartwatch that fits in a GBD200 model that has basic health sensors and acts as a minimal fitness tracker that can check my heart rate, breathing, etc. The reason I'm going for a GBD200 is because of its minimal and functional approach. I don't care about fancy screens with a complex Google Wear OS. I want a simple, effective fitness tracker that primarily functions as a watch. I hope Casio manages to find that balance and incorporate it in their GShock series. When they do, they'll get a bigger foothold on the smartwatch/fitness tracker market.

Everything you hate about G-Shocks combined with everything you hate about Smartwatches.

How about the OS Performance? It seems the OS same with the protrek wsd-f20/f30. In the protrek the OS seems kind of laggy, especially in f20 because i have one. I dont know about the f30. But can you told me how is the OS performance in this GSW-H1000? Thank you.

I loved the design and bought it last year, everything perfect but the battery is short life and slightly flow down very fast.

I am not a big fan on the smart watch, since I am a Casio man, but that is a sweet watch and it is a Casio!

I like chunky watches and im quite a big dide but when i treid this it was just too big, hopefully the next generation will be a wee bit slimmer as they have done on the H2000.

This is has a slight edge on most G’s but to each their own, they are on the same playing field.

Can this watch be updated to the new Wear OS? 3 is out now so can you update to it with this model? If not, what will happen to the watch if you cant update it?

Solar would be the best. Sleep tracking too. Living in Africa, I still have to charge my Garmin once/twice a week. My solar powered Rangeman, once in 4years!!!

Even Casio won't tell you what version Wear OS it's running. As a smartwatch it's almost certainly obsolete now. Give me a traditional G-shock anyday.

I hope this watch can be back in stock in the USA. It's tough to buy it imported from eBay. I saw this watch in stock 6 months ago at REI, but now the watch is entirely out of stock in the USA except on eBay. It has a controversial review, but I personally think that I will like this watch, though I haven't received it yet from my online order.

I’m less disappointed about the solar as I am disappointed by the lack of a sapphire option…

Kinda want a barometer watch so I know when the weather front moving in, to go and catch fish.

I think I will stick to my Rangeman!

id love G shock to make one of these that stores music and has bluetooth so i don't have to carry phone with me like my apple watch. If they can do this it would be great as i don't need all the other stuff hence why i don't wear apple watch anymore just gathering dust on charger .

I am still waiting for a smartwatch that looks manly. Apple ultra may be the only one together with some garmin ones. I would like gshock to make one and then I would expect to look better. And also would like longer battery life closer to gshocks

Solar Power for a simple, regular G-Shock makes sense. But for a smartwatch that uses an actual light up screen, constant heart rate monitor, accurate accelerometer, and has a smart watch like computer, etc; a solar power screen cell would only increase the price further and have an insignificant effect on the battery life. So the decision of not including it makes sense in this case.

I'd be patient and wait a year or two to see how Casio evolves this model/series of watch and their direction.

I need one but it's to expensive 🥴😢 XD but damn I like it.

Honestly, it would be amazing to see pocket watches make a comeback, but at this point, smartphones are in a way the modern man pocket watches

While it looks quite cool, there's just no way i'd swap my GW-B5600 for this. Smartwatches just aren't great for everyday wear.

Dear Casio, we love you dearly, you make the best watches , bar non, but most of us don't want a smart watch, we want you to improve what you make already. Like sappire crystal option in every watch.

Is it still being sold? Some ppl in the comments said that it has been discontinued and "it didnt work out"

I use spigen cover +strap on my Watch 5 Pro and it looks great. It really becomes gshock. Titanium body with that chaaaaaunky case makes is super durable.. This casio watch not available in India so will buy will when available.

I was on board or with Casios first protrek smart watch - I soon realized , that for a person who spends weeks in remote locations - a tough solar protrek or even a rangeman is the better choice

Most the smartwatches will be outdated in couple of years. GWM5610 is always up to date.

Perfect watch except battery life. Don’t need a G Shock watch with functionality lasting merely 1.5 days if you can’t change it. Forget going outdoors for a few days where you need to rely on your equipment on bare minimum. And I’m a big Casio fan for 30+ years. I’ll stick with other G Shock models.

Hi you did not mention about battery life. Battery life is incredibly limited on this model. I have heard and seen on g shock blogs that users have been complaining about its barely a day battery life.

Honestly for £599 id rather buy a Casio Mudmaster instead, its much tougher, timeless because technology doesnt age it and overall a better looking watch as well.

world toughest watches can also easily destroy by fire or by heavy object.
