The World’s Smallest Water Treatment Plant Comes in a Packet
Ғылым және технология
About 800,000,000 people worldwide - that’s almost one in ten, more than the population of the U.S. - don’t have reliable access to clean water.
Using a technology first developed to reuse dirty laundry water, scientists have developed a water treatment plant the size of a teabag. Inside, a potent chemical triple-threat removes microbes, heavy metals, silt and dirt to produce clean, safe water one bucket at a time.
Ingenious is a new web series from the American Chemical Society about how leading-edge chemistry is taking on the world’s most urgent issues to advance everyone’s quality of life and secure our shared future.
Hosted by Alex Dainis, Ingenious spotlights stories from the front lines of chemistry research and development, where passionate innovators are stepping up to confront problems like pollution, overfishing, sustainability, and personal safety.
Ingenious releases every month.
#cleanwater #flocculation #pollution
Ingenious is made with funding and featuring scientists from 3M, Ascend Performance Materials, Baker Hughes, BASF, Dow, DuPont, Procter & Gamble, PPG, Royal DSM, SABIC, Solvay, and W. L. Gore & Associates, none of whom influenced any editorial decisions.

P&G Purifier of Water.
Hold on... How do you make a WHOLE video about how great and safe this thing is. And then at the end you won't even drink it because you clearly don't trust it. Like forget swallowing it, it looks like you didn't even let the water enter your mouth. Like why not just fake it??? I'm not sure what would be worse. Faking that you drank the water that you cleansed or faking that you trust the product by fake sipping on it. SMH.

You can hear the sipping noises and can see her neck move as she drinks the water… SMH
How does this free up time for other activities instead of hiking half a day for the days water?
IF IT WOULD SEPARATE THE BAD STUFF FROM THE WATER, WILL IT ALSO SEPARATE THE GOOD STUFF, LIKE NUTRIENTS AND MINERALS THAT WAS PUT IN THE WATER AS WELL?
@satista2381

No it wouldn't. Minerals and your so called nutrients are compounds and ions and generally are dissolved in the water itself. It should be good. The coagulant and flocculant removes dirt from the water primarily. And the chlorine kills Germs. I don't know if the solution removes heavy metals, pesticides etc etc...
IF SOMEONE SHOULD EAT WHAT'S IN THE PACKETS, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THE BLOOD OR OTHER LIQUIDS IN THE BODY?
