The shock and horror on the grandchildren’s faces when I showed them this! They’re still in disbelief that this actually happened. I don’t think they’re allowed to be educated with such historical events at school these days, as I suspect it leaves far too much explanation, as to why it was almost eradicated from history.

I don't necessarily think its "not allowed" to be taught, but i do know most teachers would rather play an instructional video than do some actual teaching. I dropped out of highschool in my freshman year because i wasn't getting anything out of it, all of my teachers were lazy curmudgeons that rathered a boring math video to play with the lights out so they can nap out their hangover.

@JelliedCranberrySauce Cherrypicking much? If you want to compare reliability, then be genuine and compare reliability as a whole. There is no comparison between reliability and performance of EVs and those huffing and puffing cylinders with little explosions inside - your kids will laugh at the idea that people actually did that in the future. The range and performance of EVs have been growing exponentially once car makers actually started investing into it. More than 50% of all cars in Norway (a cold country, wouldn't you say?) are electric. Get with the times old man or get left behind

@@igvc1876 nah, you leftist boomers just want to take the world 150 years back, possibly to neo middle age. They probably just want to stop plebs from driving. EVs are older than gasoline cars, and while ICEs have been developed mainly for automotive, and corrupt politicians have hindered their developement by outlawing every alternative fuel, electric motors and batteries have been developed for different purposes, such as industries, appliances and military, all of which needs way higher standards than automotive, got more funding and had no regulation stopping the progress. Even with that, the range and charging time didn't change since 1900, those old carriages already had something around 100 miles range, only performance did improve, but ICE cars went a long way since then too. So no, we wouldn't had better range, and ICEs are still a way better option, even for the enviroment. And honestly, if a car got to be left in the garage (supposed you have one) for hours after a short trip, and take multiple whole days to complete a medium/long trip, it's just useless apart from grocery shopping in town for upper middle class who can afford a garage

@@giacomoneri1782 dude what? Take a look at Norway where more than HALF of all cars on the road are electric and more then 70% of all new cars sold are EV and more than 90% plug in hybrids. Most people don't have a garage there, infrastructure enables it. Yeah technology stood still for 100 years until every carmaker today started actually investing in it. The charging speeds have gone down radically and it's inevitable most issues will be solved. The concept of EV simply makes logical sense since it makes it energy source agnostic and future and innovation proof as new energy sources come and go. It also democratizes access to energy and makes people energy independent from either their or foreign governments in a true libertarian sense as anyone can harvest their own electricity but no one can make their own gasoline. It's the future old man
