In a Japan style, souls like game, Jevil would play a similar role to the one he already has in deltarune, with a little added flair. He’s entirely optional, not at all relevant to understanding the story already in front of you, but if you dare, he’s going to show you “the truth.” The truth of the matter is that you’re quite frankly not ready for that fight, so get dunked on.

@@speedb.bernard5404 Actually no, not every game. Some are gags that get one shot. Some aren’t even fights, more so just pleasant cameos that SHOULD have been a fight. The latter of which often get fixed with dlc or some sort of expansion.

This led me down a rabbit hole about male geisha, how their role shifted from jesters to geisha to often times military strategists and sometimes even combatants as the needs of a Lord shifted over time. So now that's a little brain worm in my head about what Jevil's role would be in a feudal Japan inspired AU. Anyway, the main hook sounded sick on shamisen, good job with this one!

@@Stuffgamer1 Yep! Kefka was based on traditional Japanese jester stuff and thus, by extension, male geisha stuff, because it's all basically the same origin. Certainly leads to some... INTERESTING interpretations about Kefka's relationship to Gestalt and why he hates him so much. Even taking out the more fanfiction-y possible conclusions, I have the feeling that anyone whose entire function was to be a Lord's attendant and entertainer wasn't treated too great. It might have also been a reference to how taikomochi became rapidly less and less relevant to society before being supplanted by female geisha so much that, despite predating them by hundreds of years, they became known as 'male geisha' while the women were just 'geisha.' That'd go well with both the game's depicted era and Kefka's huge inadequacy complex.

Japanese style music is already great but whenever hyuman remixes songs into a Japanese style it sounds absolutely incredible I also love the art that's put into the videos they look great

The startup being Jevil's theme in the overworld is the perfect buildup to the actual battle theme. The art having Jevil's clothes being baggy makes him look like a kirby character.

I love TWR, it's my favorite track in the whole game. It captures the themes of fantasy, chaos, good vs evil/light vs dark so well and is just beautiful.

Very eerie build up at the start, I like it. And the main part, very playful. Love it

I love how this keeps the epicness and utter chaos of this theme with not only having the sense of freedom to it, but to make you feel like you really are free. Is there really anything you can't do? Even if its not possible in this world, theres millions of alternate universes, millions of possibilities, and so many new things to discover, find, and create. So just because you feel like your trapped or enslaved, or anything like that, just know, theres always an other option, because You can do Anything.

Dude, they way the time signature switched between 4/4 and 3/4 was AMAZING! Freaking incredible as always, Hyuman! Bravo!

I'm still only on my "Undertale but the monsters are Yo-Kai" AU, but I'm still wondering what kind of Yo-Kai could the Deltarune characters be, even if I'm not there yet. And for Jevil... I have no idea yet. There are a lot of pranksters in the Yo-Kai world so I'd have to dive back deeply into the Yo-Kai list. I'm not feeling like doing it now though.

Well for starters, a Japanese Jevil would be “Taikuma”. He’s an _akuma_ based on an English _taikomochi._

I'm just imagining a kabuki theater where you could have literally any show on and at a cue, the music slowly builds and reveals Jevil, and the current protagonist and their party must defeat him. And when this cue happens is literally the sole discration of the actor playing Jevil. So you could go months without an appearance, and even great honored guests could only hope to catch a glimpse (though, so as to not snub anyone, his appearance is guaranteed on the first time an important figure visits the theater).
