Imagine if you could press F1 at any time during the fight to take a time-out, and Jevil would just sit down, talk to you about chaos stuff, and sell you weird items to give you a sporting chance. Then, when you press the button to exit, the fight just starts back up where it left off.

@@iamafuckingfailure It's a really smug move from a chaos standpoint; demolishing your enemy so hard that they grovel for leniency, then giving them the advantage they want because you know you can still whoop them anyway. Jevil must realize on some level that he'll ultimately never truly beat this godlike entity that can turn back time and has no regard for its own well being, but he can certainly put a dent in its pride.

Imagine an AU where Jevil is a shopkeeper and Seam is a secret boss. Jevil is still nutty and chaotic, but not to the point where he is deemed a threat, while Seam is so nihilistic, he does increasingly dangerous things because he doesn't think anything matters, and so is locked up in the dungeon.

He was the court Jester for the King! Historically Jesters were some of the very few allowed to make jokes about the rulers without getting in trouble for it, and were actually also considered like right-hand-men to the rulers. They're usually very intelligent and the ruler would go to their jester for various advice that other folks just didn't have the proper comprehension to offer. Basically, they're the ultimate ambivalent ones of the Court who were some of the only ones allowed to criticize those in power without being punished, and would often actually affect how the ruler would make decisions. Of course, this is when they existed. There's also some history regarding them apparently having associations with war leaders or something but it's been a while since my pal info-dumped this all on me lol.

@@exist4046 why king only NOW kicked him out could also be explained by the arrival of the knight. it's been shown that things tend to get tense and people act differently and rashly around the fountain. king threatens to kill his son, queen becomes much more devious and manipulative, holding berdly hostage. i find it likely that the emergence of the fountain alongside jevil's mind being corrupted is what lead to him being severed off to his cell
