It's very sad. I see no reason why both masses can't be used especially with those who left and then came back also others who joined the church because of the old mass. They're destroying the church by placing restrictions on it

Personally, I believe the Latin Mass is good for emphasising the Real Presence in the Eucharist. It seems quite easy to be attending the 'Novus Ordo' Mass, and to be only considering the Eucharist as a mere symbol (partly because the service resembles Protestant services [Protestants do not believe in the Real Presence]). However, I think it probably is hard for someone regularly attending the Latin Mass, to doubt the Real Presence: the whole service appears more oriented towards emphasising the sanctity and treasure of the Eucharist. It is for these reasons, and because I feared that the Real Presence wasn't being taught, that I became a regular attendee of the Latin Mass in the past: I felt it was one way to declare the Real Presence to the world without getting into arguments and discussions. People are drawn to the Latin Mass because it seems more spiritual, ethereal, sacred, and heavenly. I do like hymns in the English vernacular, but Gregorian chant is on something like a completely different higher level, when we are talking about Church music. People get a sense of the sacred with Gregorian chant. While popular English hymns can be enjoyable, often you just don't get so much of a sense of the sacred with them, and they are often more like songs for a 'sing-song' event. Christians who are developed in their faith, are attracted to Gregorian chant, because all the musical elements in such music appear to be enthused with Christian virtues. Gregorian chant doesn't sound like a marching song, like a theatrical song, like a human-love song, like a pop song, etc. (sometimes popular devotional songs resemble these other kinds of song). Even Vatican Masses sometimes have music with an air of the theatrical (which I don't personally think is so appropriate for the liturgy).

I agree with Dr. Phares.....We are really beyond a deal with Iran. The whole thing is so bizarre and the Iranians are laughing all the way to the bank to get our money.

I am so grateful that my Catholic life revolves around my wonderful parish n amazing Priest ...Rome.. The Vatican do nothing to build my faith or deepen my relationship with Jesus . We are united in Christ. The Vatican is divisive.

The Vatican, in the sense of the Holy See, is central and vital to the Catholic Faith. You may not see it directly in your parish, but the Magisterium filters through the hierarchy, seeps into dioceses, and emerges in parishes. At every Mass, we pray for the Holy Father, Pope Francis.

It would appear to me that the hatred or rather suppression of the Latin Mass comes from the evil one who hates Latin. There's no other explanation that makes sense to me. Latin is the language of the Church.

He’s referring to the Novus Ordo, irreverent stuff is very common.

In my family, certain family members are using the Latin Mass as a means of not having to worship with other family members; it's made the division in the family deepen. That's how it's played out in my family. We all used to go to the same Mass together. Now they look down on the ordinary Mass, which is the Mass of Vatican II. It's not supporting Jesus' prayer that "they all be one." It's not that I think it should never be celebrated. However, I support the Vicar of Christ in his apostolic role over everyday Catholics. Like I said, my own personal experiences with certain members in my family haven't been positive when it comes to the Latin Mass. I personally don't find this form of the liturgy appealing, but I do agree that some people may find it enriching. Of course, Mass is always Mass. To sum up my argument, the aim is unity, Vatican II changed the liturgy, my family experiences have not been positive with the Latin Mass, and I ultimately support the Pope's decision over other ordinary Catholic opinions. With that being said, I'm not against any form of Mass because Mass is ultimately Mass.

I think it's better for the church to continue, the way, they are operating right now, for God is present everywhere and I see no good reason, that congregation should be seeing the BACKS OF THE PRIEST. FACING THE CONGREGATION WITH THE HOLY CROSS, ON THE HOLY TABLE, THAT REPRESENTSJESUS'S BODY, IT'S WORTH FACINGTHE TABLE AND GET ATTENTION OF THEIR PEOPLE. AMEN. PEACE. SHALOM.
