Honestly I want two prequels: one that focuses on the war of the hollow lambent vs locust, and another of the pendulum wars

Honestly you could do both in one game the Human side focuses on the closing days of the Pendulum Wars and the Locust side focuses on the fight against the Lambent and the lead up to E-day with the last chapter going back and forth between both sides on E-day.

Every time I play Gears of War with my friend, whenever we get to the weather and natural occurrences of Sera and think to ourselves “Man this planet sucks, the Locust can have it”

@@KingAbzTV wind flares was definitely something I was thinking of. But the presence of such powerful wind storms can also tell us that the sun the Sera revolves around must cause wild temperature fluctuations in order to produce violent winds like that.

Could also be why the kryll are so vulnerable to sunlight. Sera sun could be much more bright and give off more energy then our own. This in turn would also make Seran winters much colder and summers much hotter than our own. No wonder their winter is called Sorrow

I have to congratulate the creators of Gears of War they could’ve easily set it in our world with a few changes but they created a whole new world with strange creatures and weather. The fighting through the razor hail at new hope is one of my favorite sections of Gears of War 2.

Gears brings so much nostalgia, just playing through the first 3 was a rollercoaster. Love the lore, always wanted to know more. Wish some sort of remaster would be made so we can al enjoy these moments again.

Gears of War is filled so much rich lore and history and I believe there’s still so much that is yet to be revealed. I truly hope that happens one day. Abz you magnificent beast, keep it up 💙⚙️🔥

I lil point I'd like to make about what you said about the planet not having a map was a smart move indeed from the Devs and it does open up a lot of new areas to show off for future games, and that's the point I'd like to make. A big problem people had with the new gears was that the games were too colourful and nice looking. I feel like the community needs to move on from the dark, grungy look of the old games because just like irl that era of gears has moved on. We beat the locust and survived the end of the world so it's time to rebuild and start moving forward and the future can't look all grimy and dirty cause well it just wouldn't make since. Yes I also love the grittyness of the first 2 games (gears 3 didn't have it but gets a pass for some reason) but it's time to move on. Also I think another big reason for the older games looking darker was just cause the 360 wasn't very powerful lol Edit: also like cmon how tf is a tropical jungle not supposed to look like a paradise? It's supposed to look like one because it is one, the locust war never came to the islands so there would be no reason for it to look like anything like a gears 1 level

THANK YOU!!!! it's gonna be colorful because it's been 25 years since the end of the war. After fighting for their survival people want to move forward. The whole point of the new series is thay the job was about an old nightmare coming back it'd make no sense for the world to remain as lifeless as it was in wartime

Also because gears 4 and 5 is the start of a new war, while in gears 1 and 2, the Locust war has been going on for 14 years by the start of Gears 1 I believe

I have a theory about Immulsion, I'd be willing to bet it's Riftworms that have decomposed, have broken down and have been compressed between the layers of the planet's crust for centuries (like dinosaurs on our planet in oil) maybe that's why there are no Riftworms, (except for the one in "2", maybe it escaped into The Hollow and reproduced somehow.)

Names of months are similar to finnish language. August translates to "life month", october to "slush mont", november to "death month" or rather "omen of death month"

As far as religion goes I think Christianity / Catholicism is a religion on Sera. Anya says “God, no!” When Adam dies, the cemetery Maria was buried in had a lot of imagery related to Catholicism, as well as the fact that many of the names of the characters are similar to common names in our world that have origins in the Bible

I wonder if they will make a game or show about the Era of Armageddon on Sera. 2:16 - 2:26.

The thing about 1000 years of war sort of confuses me. How did two superpowers fight for THAT long? I know that we had long wars but for a war to last a MILENNIUM? Without either superpower collapsing? Seems implausible.

And here I thought the serans were colonists from earth. Great video I've played gears since it first came and I never knew about any of the calendar or time stuff.

It’s cool how the writers in 06 hinted at the worst of humanity in a fictional way, also all the hidden horrors like the strict rule of the cog you have to dig for if you just play the game without looking deep in details.

How does the planets surface not collapse because the hollow? I mean it's big holes in the planet. If one riftworm went stray, and took out some of the supports, then the planets surface would collapse in on itself.

A BE Gears game would be an interesting way to continue the series.

The surface conflict could run parallel foreshadowing with the underground giant worms and the tunnels. That would be cool. I bet the gameplay for something like that could be made just as good. The backdrop wouldn’t be so devastated and the enemies wouldn’t be so grotesque so it would be quite a departure from a traditional gears game but the gameplay could be the same good ol’ Gears gameplay, which is top-notch. It would not be so clear who the good guys and bad guys are. It would be interesting to have the game be from either the perspective of the coalition or the union or both or choose between the two or have one game be from the union perspective and another be from the coalition perspective. Locust could still be in the game in one level of the game as a dream, someone’s vision of the future, a premonition.

I think it’s the calendar and seasons that throw me off

speaking of Emulsion. im imagine (kinda out of topic) there's a CoG armor that powered by emulsion. this Armor seems little bit like Gundam armor and also with CoG aestethic touch on the design. This armor gave the user super abillity for offensive user can use option/drone from their armor and floating next the user to gave them more firepower. for defensive. this armor can create a barrier/creating a wall. to make the other soldier cover in fight. i think this might sounds silly or cringe for some of people but i imagine Marcus and Dom has their signature weapon. for Marcus he has a chainsaw shaped like a (kinda big) sword but also can be use as a gun. like lancer but lancer based on rifle weapon. and this lancer based on the sword. Dom weapon is Bow that basically like Torque when it explode once it impact to the target. and the bow also can be used as dual sword. and those signature weapon powered by emulsion stored from their CoG armor that can be linked into their signature weapon.

It would be a cool idea for the gear developers to create a game around the 1000 year war. It would be difficult and different but it could be cool.

I Will love a gears of war mini game or alternative game (like judement or odst) that Will set on the era of armageddon with knights and some kind of "monster" Slayer profethy and to hear stories about something that lives deep on the ground. I remeber in "I think it Was gears 2" that someone said something about old children stories about monsters that come from the deep and Would be cool to explore that on the ancient times and the fact that was forgotten completely by the era of the pendulum wars.

If sera was so bad why did the cog and others stay could they not travel to earth to get away I always wondered that if anyone can help me with that answer.

So in the gears universe did humanity originate on sera or did we move there from earth?

I don't know about everyone else but I can only imagine how a Seran would react to Earth...?

UIR is basically some kind of union of slavic countries, they probably got inspired by Soviet Union and cold war

I have read the books, comics, got all the gears cutscenes and I’ve read up a lot of other trivia and lore. Websites also help too for more niche topics that aren’t explained in black and white in the media.

What is the lore of the ones that emerged?

Me every time they mention a date in GoW: “what are you talking m8?” 🙃

there is the planet Risea but we don't know anything about it, it could be inhabited. Other than that, the Gears lore has never explored any planets or aliens

Off the all place in media, I would Sera as the worst place to live in. Why? Due to the amount of bloodshed spiled, People burying their loved ones, Children being orphaned and Parents burying their children. I mean the whole planet is just depressing and the people go through alot. This franchise really shows the evils of war.

I know I'm late to this, but Sera sounds alot like Mars in our own solar system, the Greeks called mars Ares, which as you pointed out is Sera spelled backwards, Mars also has 2 moons Phobos and Deimos, days on Mars are also longer than days on earth, but only by 40 minutes, and the years are somewhere around 600-700 days, so a little longer than Sera. do you think the developers used mars as inspiration for Sera?
