In this video, we visit Alton Towers' brand new area, The World of David Walliams. This area was previously known as Cloud Cuckoo Land but has now been rethemed to David Walliams' books. The area now features a rethemed Carousel and Frog Hopper. It also features a new sizzler flat ride. It's also home to a new shop based on one of his popular characters. But it now features a new headline attraction. A brand new dark ride located in the former Wobble World and House of Monsters building themed to his most popular book, Gangsta Granny.
This new development was originally set to open on the 21st March 2020, but due to the current pandemic, it was postponed to Spring 2021. But the wait has definitely been worth it as loads of thought has gone into the area and the amount of effort and attention put on for the opening day was truly sensational.
We give our thoughts about the area as a whole and Gangsta Granny: The Ride. We get amazing interactions from the entertainment and other people. I also get the opportunity to interview the Creative Lead John Burton.
The World of David Walliams has not let me down in any way. it is certainly what the park has needed and it is definitely bringing attention to the area and the delay was worth it in the end.
