The Woman Revving Motorcycles like Music in Japan

Shino Hashimoto is a 21-year-old rider from Tokyo, fighting to prove herself in Japan’s male-dominated motorbike competitions through one of her proudest skills: cutting calls. By using the throttle and clutch of the bikes, she and other riders create modified revving sounds, which are loosely translated to "calls.”
We follow Shino as she prepares for Q-1, a classic competition among racing circuits, to learn more about what's behind the country's unique motorbike culture.

She gives a moment to think about her end goal. I don’t think she ever had a goal, I think she just enjoyed riding.

Maybe it also has something to do with her culture? I could be way off, but her body language suggested she was embarrassed or nervous to say her dream out loud. It clearly meant a lot to her to be supported. It’s hard to voice your dreams out loud, especially if that dream isn’t a socially acceptable one.

Samantha Warren I forgot she was in a competition. I thought that she didn’t have a goal with what she was doing but was just doing it, till she is asked what her goal is she actually thinks about it. She has small goals surely but that moment seemed like he asked a for a life defining goal. But I could be wrong she did tell us she wanted to be #1.

I do not remember his name, but there was a composer, during the age of classical music at peak popularity, and he wrote no notes, and the entire orchestra was the sound of the audience and the natural ambient acoustics of the room. People were furious. But he made a valid point. Others with audio-motion synesthesia may understand what I mean. Everything is music.
